Pesto chicken pasta salad with roasted cherry tomatoes, toasted pine nuts and basil; corn on the cob with chive butter; deviled egg; sweet pickle with mixed olives and pickled spring onion.
Deviled eggs are one of my specialties. I've been making them just about every Easter since my mom taught me how to make them as a kid.
Believe it or not, though, I have never actually tasted one myself! I had a lot of food allergies as a child, and while I got over just about all of them, I developed picky eating habits and a strong resistance to trying new foods.
Luckily, my deviled eggs have always been very popular, so they must be pretty tasty.

No, it's not #SuperBowlXLIX food. I'm not even watching the game. Nor am I following it on the Internet, or radio. Frankly, I couldn't care less about NFL & most sports in general.
But, like most folks, I do eat.
And like some, I #photograph my #food. But unlike some others, I attempt to make my food visually appealing, and to depict it photographically in an appealing manner.
So, here's what you're looking at:
I'll spare the description - it's in the title.
The deviled egg yolks are made with Duke's brand mayonnaise & brown German mustard, with freshly ground black pepper, salt, garlic & onion powder, and Hungarian paprika. They're sprinkled with marjoram, and poppy seed, and a fennel seed, or two. They rest atop slices of Virginia honey-baked ham, or pepper roast beef.
Seen in the background, guacamole atop a round tortilla chip, topped with a jalapeño slice.
Oh... and a tip on how to keep the guacamole from turning brown - use lemon or lime juice (I used lime) in the mixture. The acid in the citrus keeps it from oxidizing, which is why guacamole turns brown when left in the open for any period of time.
