Hvalfjörður = Whale fjord

The name Hvalfjörður is derived from the large number of whales which could be found and caught there. Until the 1980s, one of the biggest whaling stations in Iceland was located in this fjord. In the past the fjord also contained a large number of herring fisheries.

Image made in the North Wessex Downs

I tend to photograph this bridge alot, mainly because it is only a short tube journey or drive from my house; and it has the added bonus of having a pub close by that does the best steak and ribs meal!

Walk toward the unknown through the veil of morning fog—a bridge to somewhere, or perhaps, nowhere.

HDR image captured at Catherine Hill Bay, NSW, Australia.

Explore the mysterious beauty of the forest with this photo of a dog lying on a mossy slope, gazing upward towards a tiny pine tree sapling. The dark, moody ambiance and the dog’s focused expression create an enchanting and intriguing scene, perfect for those who appreciate the magical allure of nature and the quiet strength of animals.

The future is always looking back at us, deciphering the legends we are fated to leave behind…

As I gaze at this small white boat on the canal estuary to the sea, near the city of Nin (Croatia), I can't help but feel its quiet longing—waiting for someone to take it on an adventure along the beautiful Adriatic coast.

Was nice to get north side and managed to dodge the rain that was around.

Bathed in golden hour glow, a devil-like form is fractured through surreal reflections. Light and shadow blur reality, leaving only a haunting presence suspended in transformation. Captured through a homemade vortograph—three mirrors arranged in a triangular shape—the image bends light into fragmented, otherworldly patterns, enhancing its eerie and mysterious atmosphere.

Those who are dead are not dead

They're just living in my head , oh

And since I fell for that spell

I am living there as well, oh

my ear worm for today.... better than the one I had yesterday, Jingle Bells... My co-workers weren't that happy having me around a.k.a. my ear worms are not of a silent kind, :).

My moody boy....sensitive and cautious always, but more so when there is a clicking camera nearby. His fur is that dark gray that is difficult to photograph clearly. So, he is my moody and dark kitty...and what a surprise to see this yawn in a series of quick snaps..lol #cy365#captureyour365#darkandmoody#JAXson

Nothing like fog to add a little something to a shot.

A few minutes after taking this shot, it was a white out! Couldn't see a thing!

Picture taken in Second Life by Astrid de Manyet.

A marionette without a puppeteer, trapped in the silent choreography of her own mind, where strings of thought pull in every direction.

I wanted to create something dark and moody as reflection of my feelings...but it wasnt easy, I really had to tap into my darkest side to create this one...because no matter how much I tried, the image would come out filled with light :) I am finally happy with how this looks, however in the whole process I did a lot of introspection...and I am sharing one of my favorite quotes about darkness cause it really resonated with how I truly feel...

"...Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

I took this moody photo from the window of an Amtrak train traveling through eastern New York. The dark, billowing clouds and silhouetted trees create a dramatic, almost ominous atmosphere. This image perfectly captures the feeling of a journey through the scenic and sometimes brooding landscapes of upstate New York, where nature often appears untamed and mysterious.

And if we're still here tomorrow

Oh will you recognize my face?

And if we're still here tomorrow

Will you remember my name?

Give me your pale eyes

And I'll give you my broken heart

And if you love me this is the place to start
