czj pancolar 50mm f/1.8

Saw a guy today in Gloucester pretending to be a statue...........he looked pretty cool so I took a couple of shots and gave him some cash....standard iPhone shot, utterly battered in Snapseed on iPad Pro with help from an Apple Pencil. Best viewed on a tablet with the brightness turned up to maximum to get the best view (especially the lips!).....as it was edited.

Smile on Saturday theme - Title Wanted

I had a couple of titles in mind but thought I would wait for some suggestions as that's what the theme suggests.

Title chosen by Paul Fraser, thank you very much for the suggestion Paul.

This echinacea flower has been very slowly dying but I can't bring myself to cut it yet as it still looks so beautiful (through my eyes anyway)

I may have to add this to my flower challenges if I don't get enough 'live' flowers by the end of the year but will hold off for now.

Happy Saturday everyone.

This is a single rose in my garden, I used Lensbaby Velvet 56 and the Omni seahorse crystal which creates the effect of more flowers. The background bokeh is also the effect of more flowers. Photos has some new presets and I used one to create the mono conversion.

This is the first time I have had time to pick up my camera for a couple of weeks. It was good to have a play. HMBT

A slightly creepy spotlight image for Shocktober, since I'd left it too late to get a daylight shot.

Interesting clouds and light. Photographed on the shore of Georgian Bay, Ontario.

My final dark & moody shot for awhile, it's spring time people! :) I thought keeping this one on the darker side would add a little more mystery to the scene. Gotta give out a shout out to my girl little m for the brilliant title on this one. And for making shooting pilings (and anything for that matter) tons of fun! Looking forward to catching up with you all tomorrow. Thanks for the visits and comments everyone :)

Just playing with my food again. Studio lighting done with two speedlights and set for a moody effect.

Shot for Active Assignment Weekly, theme "Dark and Moody"

WIT

I took this shot last Thursday in a nature resort. The "moon" is actually the sun, but due to dark and foggy conditions and in post a lot of darkening it looks more like a moon. The crow (shot on another occasion) I added in Photoshop,

ð Trevaylor Woods, Penzance

I've been struggling with my photography lately. Really struggling. I hear a lot of landscape photographers struggle in summertime too. But also throw in bad planning, probably due to tiredness.

Take today for instance. I checked the tide times, weather, even cloud height (low clouds scupper a colourful sunrise). But I somehow misread the sunrise time - making me arrive at my chosen location (Newlyn Harbour) late! How did I even do that?

When I finally made it to the end of the pier, I was faced with a "drone pilot." Now, the normal conversation with a fellow tripod wielding photographer would go like this...

Me: "Hi mate, do you mind if I join you?"

Tog: "Sure! No problem at all! Besides, I don't own the pier haha!"

Then we'd talk ourselves down and tell each other how rubbish we are. Standard stuff.

But this is a shortened account of the conversation I had with the drone pilot, let's call him Maverick...

Me: "Hi mate, do you mind if I join you?"

Maverick: "I'm working here... Just let me land before I talk to you... Well you have to stand behind the cones or I'll have to induct you to the site."

Me: ð"Oh right. Okayy. So this is a paid commission?"

Maverick: "Well no, it's a personal project. I'm a surveyor you see, and this lighthouse has markings... blah blah blah"

The conversation continued awkwardly until the light quickly became too harsh for me to shoot before I packed up and headed to nearby Trevaylor Woods as a Plan B.
