A roaring roadster from the 1960s, this car was originally known as the Daimler Dart, but the name was quickly dropped following legal action by Chrysler for reusing the name from one of their own cars.

Seen in Stirling bus station whilst on hire to Midland Scottish, this 1950 Massey bodied Daimler CVD6 is resting between trips on the Stirling Circular Service in the late '80s.

It was new to A1 Service member Hunter of Dreghorn before being converted to open top.

The Daimler Dingo is another British success story. This armoured recce vehicle was in use from the start of WW2 in a scouting role and continued in UK use into the 1950s and 60s, only being replaced by the Ferret.

Other nations continued to use it until the 1970s and many are now in private hands. It is a popular vehicle among collectors.

ATECO - Truck Of the Year 2010

IAA Fair Hanover - 2010.

These two Metro-Cammell bodied Daimler CVG6s must have been among the more elderly vehicles inherited by the West Midlands PTE from its component municipal fleets. The closer of the pair, seen in Coventry on Wednesday 19th July 1978, was new in 1962, the other in 1958. The registration marks are local, so presumably these two buses were inherited from Coventry Corporation. The city's postwar shopping centre ...at least the little corner we see here... looks to be in substantially original condition.

The Daimler Sovereigns were based on contemporary Jaguar bodyshells, chassis and engines in an example of badge engineering. Jaguar Cars took over The Daimler Company in 1960 and the 1966 Sovereign was the second Daimler to be based on a Jaguar model. The first was the 2½ litre V8 with a V8 engine designed by Edward Turner. Unlike the Daimler 2½ litre, the Sovereign had a Jaguar engine, marking the end for the Turner designed engines.

The first Daimler Sovereign was based on the 1966 Jaguar 420 and is sometimes referred to as the "Sovereign 420". Subsequent Sovereigns arose from the Series I, II and III Jaguar XJ6. In 1983 the model name "Sovereign" was switched to the high specification version of the Series III Jaguar XJ6, the 6-cylinder Daimler based on it simply continuing without a model name.

The V12 versions of the Daimler, available from 1972 to 1997, were named Daimler Double-Six after the original Daimler V12s.

The bus appeared in the 1964 Earls Court Motor Show. It is a hybrid of Daimler chassis and Guy driveline with Gardner engine. It has appeared in a Tesco advert. The vehicle was new to South Shields Corporation as No 140. On withdrawal, it was retained by Busways and later Stagecoach, and has been maintained by the 140 Group for 32 years. It has been in preservation longer than it was in service. The only double decker remaining in South Shields.

In 1956 the Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley and Dukinfield Joint Transport and Electricity Board (phew!) bought a unique small batch of Daimlers with a CENTRE entrance. They never bought any more, and nor did anyone else. As far as I know this nicely restored exhibit at the Keighley Bus Museum is now unique.
