Thomas Cole Historic House - Cross Pollination - "Eclipse" by Sayler/Morris crosspollination.oncell.com/en/saylermorris-eclipse-28663...
"So, in visiting the Thomas Cole House we were immediately drawn to the windows. Outside the windows are the mountain views Thomas Cole painted, changing the way we see the world and our relationship to ecology. Since we found ourselves first looking to the windows in each new room we entered, we decide to exhibit our eclipse piece outside Cole’s bedroom window, to provide a different sort of view. Eclipse is a memorial to the extinction of the passenger pigeon, formally the most abundant bird species in North America, but also a celebration of life and the kinship we have with all living things. The piece is a seven minute loop and is intended to be hypnotic and meditative. We hope you’ll stay for the complete cycle."
