I know everyone and their dog are wearing this clever new hair from .Shi but it's great so... woof. Also; I know Piet Mondrian didn't deal with circles but when I found that Ocean Blackthorne of Bakaboo had dropped a few of his Ferosh Fashion Weekend items on me - thanks mate! - the stark geometry of the jacket reminded me of both his art and the designs of the recently departed Andre Courreges so I went with a smooshing up of them both.
Usually I'd crap on for a fair bit more here trying to sound both witty and educated but I have to slam this up and depart as I've got my beautiful niece's wedding in a couple of hours. So all you get is clothing credits, my usual reference song which this one particular friend of mine will get and a rapid exit, stage right.
Bet you're super sad.

- It was designed by Antonis Volanis (MATRA-planning office) and based on the SIMCA 1100 VF2 Fourgonette Pick-Up.
- The body work was made of fibreglass and polyester.
- MATRA originally planned a production of 25 000 units, but it became a big "hit", this conspicuous leisure car.
- It looks like an offroad / 4x4 SUV (was too expensive) with a high ground clearance, but in fact it's a underpowered front wheel drive only vehicle, not suitable for rugged terrains.
- In time, the intention was to replace the underpowered engine with a more advanced 1600cc engine but those plans were never implemented.
- The Rancho has a four-speed manual gearbox, a Weber carburettor and a 60 liters fuel tank.
- It has independent suspension with independent torsion bars at the front, independent suspension with torsion bars and anti-roll bar at the back and hydraulic servo-brakes: front disc brakes, rear drum brakes.

- Electronic tachometer, Voltage meter, rear fog light, metallic paint, alloy wheels, air-conditioning, bunk bed, color windows, tow bar, headlight washers, radio and pre-radio speakers in the doors were options (all items sometimes standard in some export countries).
- The noise level above 90 km/h and the corrosion susceptibility are known shortcomings of this vehicle.
- Apart from the basic Rancho (1977-1984), there was the Midnight (1981-982), the Jeanneau (1980), the Courrèges (1981), the Loisirs (1980), the Grand Raid (1979-1981 with "off-road" extras), the Rancho X (1979-1984 upscale model), the Rancho AS (1979-1984 no rear seat) and the Découvrable (1980-1981 rear cabin consisted of an open frame with roll-down fabric covers).

Lingerie are women's undergarments, and may imply their being fashionable and alluring.
Lingerie undergarments use flexible, stretchy, sheer, or decorative materials like Lycra, nylon (nylon tricot), polyester, satin, lace, silk and sheer fabric. Certain cotton or synthetic undergarments are also lingerie.
The word lingerie derives from the French word linge, meaning 'linen'. So faire le linge, comes to mean "do the laundry". In French the wordlingerie applies to all undergarments for either sex.[ In English it means women's underwear or nightclothes. Lingerie as a word was first used to refer underwear and bras in 1922.Informal usage suggests visually appealing or even erotic clothing. Although most lingerie is designed to be worn by women, some manufactures now design lingerie for men.
The concept of lingerie as a visually appealing undergarment was developed during the late nineteenth century. Lady Duff-Gordon of Lucile was a pioneer in developing lingerie that freed women from more restrictive corsets. Through the first half of the 20th century, women wore underwear for three primary reasons: to alter their outward shape (first with corsets and later with girdles or bras), for hygienic reasons, or for modesty. Before the invention of crinoline, women's underwear was often very large and bulky. During the late 19th century, corsets became smaller, less bulky and constricting, and were gradually supplanted by thebrassiere, first patented in the 20th century by Mary Phelps Jacob. When the First World War broke out, women found themselves filling in men's work roles, creating a demand for more practical undergarments. Manufacturers began to use lighter and more breathable fabrics. In 1935 brassières were updated with padded cups to flatter small breasts and three years later underwire bras were introduced that gave a protruding bustline. There was also a return to a small waist achieved with girdles. The 1940s woman was thin, but had curvaceous hips and breasts that were pointy and shapely. In the 1960s the female silhouette was liberated along with social mores. The look was adolescent breasts, slim hips, and extreme thinness. André Courrèges was the first to make a fashion statement out of the youth culture when his 1965 collection presented androgynous figures and the image of a modern woman comfortable with her own body.
As the 20th century progressed, underwear became smaller and more form fitting. In the 1960s, lingerie manufacturers such as Frederick's of Hollywood begin to glamorize lingerie. The lingerie industry expanded in the 21st century with designs that doubled as outerwear. The French refer to this as 'dessous-dessus' which basically means innerwear as outerwear.

David has been shopping for property in the Valley - he thinks he could live here - he be living here alone....rattlesnake country. On the other hand, I could sell my Courreges 60's sunglasses and vintage Chanel suits from here and use this photo as my business card...."our store" and I wouldn't be lying. Truth is, I'd live anywhere with David but I would lobby hard for something more me and that would be nothing to do with rattlesnakes.

“Okay, I’m off to my photoshoot …” AA Francie said to her pals in the Sears exclusive Francie/Casey ‘House Mate’ as she left for her next modelling assignment. Though they all wondered why she was already wearing the outfit she was going to be photographed in before she got there… That was because Francie just couldn’t wait to wear it!
I have wanted ‘PAZAM!’ from 1968 for the longest time…. So when I finally nabbed it a few weeks ago, I knew it had to go on my latest AA Francie. The coat is really hard to get right on her, but I think she did a great job of modelling it in her ‘studio’ shoot! I also really dig that funky pink braid she’s wearing, which is why I wanted to find it complete, (I added the pink ‘bubble’ sunglasses that came with another Francie outfit.) I was inspired by 1960s shoots in Vogue of models wearing Courrèges outfits with multicoloured Dynel wigs. LOVE her hair this way, and it wasn’t as hard a style to achieve as I thought. (I was inspired by how it looked in one of the groovy illustrations in the old fashion booklets, where she was wearing the braid in ‘Summer Coolers’ which I also just got complete! I’ll photograph that soon…) I think she will be wearing this look for a while!
Sandie wears Light Strike Natalia dress alongside André Courrèges coat. I’d absolutely love to see a Poppy collection inspired by André Courrèges iconic and revolutionary Space Age collection from Fall 1964
She wears: op art mini-dress, textured tights, no panties
Aspires to wear: Bates; Courreges; Betsey Johnson; Mary Quant; Ungaro; Pucci
Aspires to be: Diana Rigg; Jean Shrimpton
Turn-ons: not wearing her panties; The Pill
Jukebox: 'Baby Love'; ‘Go Now’, 'Green Onions'; 'Papa's Got a Brand New Bag', ‘She’s Not There’
Albums: The Beatles (natch); The Kinks; Martha and the Vandellas
TV: The Avengers; Coronation Street; Ready Steady Go!
Movies: Goldfinger; anything by Fellini, Losey or Roger Corman
Movie Stars: Julie Christie; Sean Connery; Jean-Paul Belmondo (“so French”)
Reading: The Final Programme; Lady Chatterley’s Lover; The Naked Lunch; A Spaniard In The Works; her boyfriend's copy of Playboy; Vogue
Eats: Coq au Vin; Devils on Horseback; Lobster Thermidor
Wheels: Aston Martin DB5 or Mini Cooper
Vices: a dangerous cocktail of Cinzano Bianco and Purple Hearts; Mentholated Consulates (‘cool as a mountain stream’)
As we all know, the 1960s were a time of drastic change… never more so than in fashion. This was also reflected in fashions that took to the air. From Tressy’s elegant, but rather formal and staid navy blue suit in Part One, to an explosion of colour, print and boldly graphic shapes, often inspired by the ‘space race’ zooming through that decade. TNT Christie is one totally ‘Mod’ air hostess, in a wild and groovy outfit created by my talented friend Terry Fisher, who made a limited number of these outfits for the Barbie Convention that had just happened. I was lucky enough to be offered one after having admired it online! I ADORE this bright Pucci print shift (made from actual vintage fabric! Her hot pink pumps are also vintage Mod era.) Christie sasses it up with an aerodynamic tulle scarf and satin gloves (both also by Terry) … and for windy days on the runway, a very ‘Courrèges’ looking ‘leather’ cape and bubble helmet to keep that beautiful auburn-streaked bouffant in place! With her very cool hot pink and yellow rolling suitcase (also courtesy of Terry), Christie’s ready to fly the groovy skies…

I was inspired by Pierre Cardin and André Courrèges amazing space age designs of the 1960s. I’ve had it in mind to use these ‘helmets’ in some space age looks for ages now and finally the perfect outfits came into being!

- Space Age ‘helmets’ - Ariel Washing detergent caps/dosing balls
- Models: Poppy Parker Alluring ‘Ally’ and new girl Ginger Gilroy Beautiful ‘Mia’ (I had a vision of her with this gamine look à La Mia Farrow 😍 and I couldn’t stand the mass of frizzy hair so she got a sleek chic new look)

Twins, Francie and Anna, are on their way to their cousin's house. Barbie has offered to let them use her kitchen to get ready for a charity bake sale. The girls are going to bake up a storm to help the Red Cross. They both hope to pursue careers in medicine.
Francie, (in green) is wearing vintage "Quick Shift" and a green pea coat and scarf that I made for her.
Anna (in orange) is wearing vintage "Orange Cozy" dress, and a cape, hood, and bag that I made for her. Both girls are wearing repro Courrèges boots.
The snow is camouflaging the doll stands! Love that!
Ever wanted an outfit but just never got around to getting it as there were many other outfits you wanted more? There are SO many Francie outfits I wanted that ‘Note The Coat’ always got passed over for something else, but I always really loved its simple, clean lines and that wonderful bark-like texture of the crepe fabric! I also LOVE those short 60’s double breasted coats, and the fact that its white reminds me of something that Courregés or even Valentino would have done, as in that famous all-white collection he designed in 1968. This coat of course, was released a year earlier, as Francie was always a trendsetter! I decided to go ‘all-white’ here and do a typical 60’s head-to-toe monochromatic look on my 1966 bend-leg Francie, using the stylish white cotton hat from the later ‘That Girl’ doll from 2002 and the white pleather pants from ‘Leather Limelight’. She also borrowed Tressy’s camera for the day, as I needed something black, white and graphic swinging from her arm! I may do another look without the pants and substitute some space age white Mod boots next…
