www.vastec-usa.com, Ph: 888-282-7832, This photo set shows how to install VASTEC USA's Coping For Fiberglass Pools, an easy alternative to styrofoam cantilever concrete deck forms. We developed this coping so we could install more fiberglass swimming pools and so we didnt have to get into the pool (in the winter) to finish the cantilever edge. Turns out it's great for the do-it-yourself homeowner also. These guys used the shimming capabilities to elevate the coping (to expose more of the waterline tile). Nice work guys!

We developed our Coping For Fiberglass Pools as an easy alternative to styrofoam concrete forms. It gives you a much more consistent look without the drawbacks of cantilever deck forms. It takes 2 guys about 2 hours to install and you can shim the coping to match the waterline on out of level pools. Also - you don't have to get into the pool to finish the concrete - definitely a bonus in cold weather.

With financial support from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), a drinking water supply system has been installed in Kori Fenti. The borehole, powered by a solar panel system, distributes water to 3 points in the village and also provides a water point for cattle. The water source that feeds the system is the only one available to the 15 kebeles (sub districts) that make up the Kori woreda (district). Like Fatuma, an estimated 10,500 people (4,500 of whom are villagers and the other 6,000 from neighboring sub districts) rely on the Kori Fenti drinking water system during the dry season. ©UNICEF Ethiopia/2022/Pouget

For several months, the population has been suffering the consequences of the drought that is currently affecting this arid region of Afar in northern Ethiopia. The lack of water forces families and people displaced by the conflict to travel long distances to get water. “This year the lean season is particularly long so I am very worried. The next rains are not expected to arrive before August. People are hungry and thirsty. The livestock is also very weak. If this continues, we will not be able to cope, so I pray every day that the rains will come in abundance,” said Fatuma. ©UNICEF Ethiopia/2022/Pouget
A coping strategy in times of drought, locals cut down any trees and bushes they can find to sell as firewood and fencing in the nearby town of Jijiga in eastern Ethiopia. Such deforestation is one of the main factors in Ethiopia's recurring drought problem. CI partner agency the Hararghe Catholic Secretariat (HCS) is helping to dig a massive catchment pond and educating local pastoralists in techniques for preventing soil erosion and farming fruit trees with the irrigation water, combining the project with environmental rehabilitation efforts.
While the flood waters have receded from the recent floods, Chaluay Kawaonag and her team of community leaders are convinced that their work is just beginning, to create a better informed and prepared community for the future.

Here's a view of the completed mosaic. I may yet do the left edge of the coping stone but I'm still considering this one. the mosaic has been fully grouted and the tiles cleaned up. It's been one of my more successful mosaics and adds a nice touch to a developing garden :)
The mosaic has a sort of water theme and indeed leads on from the pebble river bed type mosaic further up.
To make it easer to understand think of the deepest ocean and all the hidden wonders which lie at the deepest depths :)

“I live 10 kilometers from the nearest water point located in the village of Kori Fenti,” said Fatuma. “For five months now since the end of the rainy season, I leave every morning at dawn with my three donkeys to fetch water. Many women from all over the area come here to get water and from 10 am the heat is very intense, so we must be quick. Once the jerry cans are filled, I immediately take the road again. I spend an average of five to six hours a day on the road.” ©UNICEF Ethiopia/2022/Pouget
Acclimating to menopause is a cruel road. In any case, there are frameworks aimed towards making this issue of a woman's presence a little more sensible.
It’s the little details that count. Sterling Pool coping creates a smooth and uniform perimeter around your pool, holds the vinyl liner in place, and provides a hand-hold for swimmers to rest against.
Made from extruded aluminum, coping is a finishing touch that unites the look of your pool, just like the trim or molding in your house.
Your Strong Support builder can also offer our special EdgelightTM coping, which bounces softly diffused light off the surface of your pool, creating an elegant optical effect. Incorporating 42-strand perimeter fiber optic lighting made by Fiberstars®, Inc.,
Edgelight coping is the most advanced perimeter pool lighting system available. Light strands are available in a wide range of colors, both static and changing.

Joseph Hamblet blue-black coping bricks on the station wall. These Hamblet coping bricks, frequently seen around railway stations, are often dated, but not in this instance.
The Hamblet works in West Bromwich, was founded in 1851 when Joseph Hamblet acquired part of the Piercy estate at Ireland Green, becoming the largest brickworks in this area of West Bromwich. The firm specialised in blue bricks, but produced many other types as well. In 1898, four years after Hamblet's death, it became Hamblet's Blue Brick Co Ltd. The firm closed down in 1915 and the estate was sold off in 1919.
Another great looking pool with a water feature from Bali Pools with Stile Edge's customized tile edging.
Part of the front left hand side coping stone. It's the only section complete so far. It's made up of glass gems, blue tiles, iridescent tiles, gold dust tiles, glitter tiles and mirror tiles. The theme here is blue mostly creating the impression of water or the ocean. I've used a variety of different tile arrangements for this piece but still with the same overall theme. Not only does it have a theme but a 3d look. The coping stone was flat so I created various shapes and sculptures using a variety of spare materials before tiling them.

Showing my mini waterfall cascade sculpture. There was originally going to be pebbles on both sides but then creativity got the better of me and I smoothed the right hand side off using cement mortar. This was then able to be tiled using blue and iridescent tiles.
