These show illustrations from Peter Boizot's "Pizza Express Cookbook" , dated 1976. Around this time I bought it as a present for my mother, who was a keen cook. When she died in 1983 I kept the book as a keepsake. For many years now I've been making pizzas regularly, usually on Sunday nights, with this as an inspiration.

Incidentally, I discovered the Pizza Express chain in the late 70s - and have gone back several times in several cities - most recently the one on Bankside in London, on my 59th birthday, and think they make some of the best pizzas anywhere!
