I have gobs of cook books. Plenty with good, tasty, low fat and healthy recipes. They will help me during my 52 weeks.

Be sure to brush off excess flour before frying!

A perfect example of a coptic binding. Cookbooks are so nice when they don't close on you as you go to get more ingredients out of the cupboard. I couldn't resist using the ant paper for the cover of a cookbook either, so I love this book. Coptic binding is by far my favorite binding style. It is complicated to do and many people avoid using it, but I love the flexibility it provides (you can use ANYTHING for a cover even if it is not flexible) and the utility of the book once you're done (it stays open on any page.)

My new cookbook arrived today! Oh yum! Now what to try first...

Excerpt from graffiti in a cookbook that will be donated at GAfilk. Details in an upcoming Blathering.

I had to ask for help to choose which of these three photos to use. I actually quite like all three of them but this one got the most votes. Also, this is only a tiny part of my coobook collection. Last count I had 80+. I *really* like cookbooks.

So, I managed to do September.

Couple of days where I had to throw in a random photo that I had taken that day instead of taking one specially, but I did it.

Good start I feel.

I love "Better Homes and Gardens" cookbooks. Most of them have classic illustrations and fonts that perfectly mirror the design and fashion of the times. And the recipes are pretty good, too.

Finally. They're done. The last big project I wanted to finish before I moved away was this edition of special edition vegan cookbooks. Ten different covers. Twelve recipes with linoleum block illustrations. Signed by all artists and in a lettered edition of 26. French fold with binder ring binding.

My husband and I both adore cookbooks. This is just a small sample of our collection. We have a full bookcase plus boxes in the garage.

I love you Bea! And I celebrate VEGAN!

Allow me to explain:

I love food. In order to understand everything that involves all that is food, one must study...everything. Become one with technique and flavor. Understand your roots...where you came from and accept that. Realize who you are and why you are the person that you are. Enjoy and celebrate your new morality. Learn from others and discover the ethical path to your life, and appetite.

Be compassionate and respect all life forms.

Live your life and share your dreams.
