The cover of Deh-Ta Hsiung, Becky Johnson and Sallie Morris's "The Ultimate Thai and Asian Cookbook". This is an awesome book. Everything I have made from it is fantastic.

I love this cookbook of my Mom's. It has my favorite cookie recipe in it, Chocolate Pretzel Cookies. They are super chocolaty. They are chocolate cookies with chocolate glaze and then I put chocolate sprinkles on them :)
The zucchini bread recipe I used was from this book.

Occassionally on Flickr someone will post a photo showing the "real" location of their photos.
For those of us who don't shoot in a studio we have to use natural locations around the house. In the new house most of my photos are done either in our bedroom (early morning or late afternoon), office (most of the day), kids' bathroom (afternoon) or the living room (most of the day). But I wanted to post a photo sequence showing the process of a photo. So here we go....
The lighting in the creative office is incredible most of the day. I'm doing alot of food photography right now because I'm helping a friend put together a cookbook of Moroccan recipes. So the subject matter today.....zucchini.
when we redid the office i had to find a different place to put my cookbooks and so i built i built this shelf from some random 1x9's i found in our outbuilding. i have no idea where they came from!
Photochallenge.org Week 1 Kitchen macros. Still haven't figured out what these paper thingies are for. Maybe I can Google it.
Wonderful vintage cookbook published for the restoration and preservation of Farmington, a historic home in Louisville, Kentucky.
These community-organized cookbooks are such a great place to find fantastic, stand-the-test-of-time recipes for home cooking--such wonderful comfort foods passed down from generation to generation.

I got a little behind in trying to work through my cookbooks one at a time. I had a dinner party last weekend and made one salad out of each of these cookbooks: oranges and olives from the Great Book of Couscous; carrots with orange juice and orangeflower water from the Ethnic Paris Cookbook; and cucumber with zatar from Paula Wolfert's book. Plus I made a big pot of couscous vegetables and cooked some merguez. Had no Algerian wine though.
This week's recipe from The Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook is Comfort Meatballs. Mine aren't as pretty as hers were in the book, but they sure were yummy! I did what I could to make mine healthier though -- used ground turkey instead of beef, skim milk, and threw in some organic ground flax seed, too.
93 page cookbook made in 1948. No doubt a "tourist" cookbook picked up on a vacation to the Keys. Unique recipes pertaining to Key West Florida. Interesting terminology for food in the Keys in 1948. As with any older (pre-2010) cookbook, care should be given when the recipe calls for a can of something (like a small can of evaporated milk) as the number of ounces in a can has decreased since 1948.
A good gift for mums. Margaret Fulton is the cookbook queen of Australia. Now in her 80s she has an Order of Australia and has been listen in the 100 most influential Australians.
She is the woman who taught Australians how to cook.
