“The staff of the ADP would visit me. They were my main source of motivation” says Jisha. She also remembers receiving letters from her sponsors.

Child sponsorship also helped her family tremendously. Her father was part of an alcohol de-addiction programme conducted by World Vision. Through this intervention, her father has remained sober since 2004. He now takes care of the family. He has leased out a small piece of agricultural land and is able to make a livelihood through farming.

Jisha understands the impact of child sponsorship. Today, she is giving back to society the support and care she has received from her sponsors through World Vision.
