a little logo for an illustration project - illustrating a place in six different techniques - each one of them - a different hour.
original calligraphy & stensil by me :)
Taken as part of a college assignment to produce a picture depicting one of 6 words.
The word I chose form the list was 'fresh'.
1/200, f16, ISO400, 100mm, tripod mounted using both built in and off camera slave flash.
I'm happy with this mark and it's probably one of the few assignments I can say I actually put a lot of work into. I wrote this paper for my sociology class and I talked about education and 'streaming' in schools. Streaming is being put into certain groups or classes based on your current marks. I talked about how I was streamed in secondary school and how I don't think streaming helps especially to a 14 year old who has just started secondary school. It puts you down a one way path and often, at that age, your future and your career aren't important factors.
This scene was from inside the college library where I was majoring in photography. In the middle of the image, you can see a film projector silhouetted against a window. One of the lessons we had to do was to make our own pinhole box camera out of cardboard, and they would employ cut-down 8x10 photo paper, which would yield four 4x5 inch “negatives” per sheet. I remember I made the pinhole out of an aluminum Coca-Cola can, but I don’t remember the size of the pinhole. These cameras seemed to work pretty good and had lots of clarity, at least mine did. Most of the shots I took with my camera were in and around the college because you could only take one picture at a time before you had to remove the exposed image and reload another shot. Unfortunately, I don’t still have the camera. It eventually fell apart, being made of cardboard, and I lost all the pieces.
This shot was taken with my twenty-fifth camera.

From the 26th to the 31st of January I was one of the photographers documenting this week of "Change?" in Dublin City.
Change? at Project Arts Centre aims to examine and dissect our perceptions of ‘change’ as a concept. From this we hope to encourage a lively discussion around the topic, with a focus on young people and what this realistically means for them and how they see their role in an uncertain future. We want to inspire and encourage each other to engage with our immediate environments –our cities and towns.

I spent most of my spring break working on this WRML model my junior year in college. I still have the code, but haven't been able to find a good WRML viewer to install on Windows XP

Every learner yawns to graduate with good grades, isn't it? Definitely, the answer is yes! Writing an outstanding dissertation paper is no doubt one main way to top grades. A good dissertation reveals the writer's solid grasp of his pertinent research methods. Besides, it shows he/she has a vast knowledge of the topic he selected. But the big question has been, how do I write an excellent paper? That is why this article presents you with a set of tested and proven tips for a First-Class Dissertation Paper.
- Write a Clear Introduction
Clearly, prepare the reader with the content to follow. Besides, it is important if you offer him the context of your research. Let it convey what you hope to achieve and explain why it is important to research the topic.
- Precise Thesis Statement
A nicely formulated introduction stimulates the interest of a reader while a poor one will give the opposite effect. It is your introduction that will lay the grounds for a thesis statement. It should not be too trite vague or too general. A solid thesis will be clearly arguable, expressed, and very specific.
- Show You Understand Your Topic in Literature Review
Your paper has to center on the issues pertaining to topic, theory, and practice. The literature review section is where this will feature. Problems experienced by past research in the area must be highlighted. Importantly, current evidence must be utilized and cited.
