Aaaaand, the cold process soap fascination continues. So I decided to try using buttermilk in place of water today! Wooooo! And adding some poppy seeds! It's chilling out now...it might change color, so I've got it in the freezer to hopefully slow it down or prevent it from going completely beige or brown...the lye likes to burn the sugars in the milk apparently...
Just trying out using one square of unsweetened chocolate for coloring. Also trying two toned without swirling :). Smells really good!

Comfrey & lavender shaving soap
This mildly astringent and moisturizing shaving soap, has lavender essential oils as the fragrance this is a old time favorite of my family. This is a soap my grandmother made for my grandfather to use.
Comfrey is proven to speed the healing by encouraging cell growth. Soothing, emollient, and mildly astringent in nature, comfrey infused oils are useful for easing arthritic joints, muscle aches, and sprains.

Well, my swirls did not really turn out so swirly...but I think I know what I did wrong. I still love the rich colors of the soap and think it looks just fine for a first attempt at marbling. I just need to pour the soap into the molds at a thicker trace, then I believe I'll get better swirls. There's always next time, eh? I do like it though :D
I am loving how this soap came out. I'll have to wait for it to cure a bit to see how it bubbles and such...
This natural deodorant works very well, all natural scented with tea tree oil, which is known for it's antibacterial properties.
This cold process soap is scented with a Champagne fragrance that is very authentic and quite addicting! This fragrance also goes great in lotions.
