I think I lost a couple brain cells yesterday by going out in -37 degrees Celcius weather for the entire morning & part of the afternoon just so I can take some pictures. I brought my friend along, and we both didn't have the proper insulation/attire so our feet & hands were completely numb during the entire process. I know, stupid me! But I couldn't stand being cooped up in the house any longer and I didn't pack any warm winter gear for me to bring. I knew it was going to be cold, but I didn't know it was going to be THAT cold. If I don't get sick from this, then I will start telling everyone that I have an immune system the strength of the hulk.

NEVER AGAIN.

Lesson of the day: When the weather network warns of severe freezing, listen to it ^_^

Shot on a 500mm lens. The full moon is actually tomorrow but I'll be traveling and won't have this silly large lens with me. So this will have to do.

Another image from when we had our cold snap.

My friend Cody has his own clothing company called Cold Rush based outside of Atlanta, and wanted to do a shoot to promote his company. If you live around the area and want to purchase a shirt you can contact him via Facebook.

Margaret Creek in the Stulu logging area of southern BC. Easy to find, so if you know, keep the site tidy!

It was a cold morning... :-)

more from these 3, a theme this winter. Why couldn't the Omega Red story be used for Wolverine Origins instead of the horrible Weapon 11 one

The Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) is a large wading bird in the heron family Ardeidae, common near the shores of open water and in wetlands over most of North America and Central America as well as the Caribbean and the Galápagos Islands.

A less than stellat weather afternoon in the everglasdes... it was quite chilly, and this"blue" was fluffing to stay warm, and doing some serious preening. The inclusion of hf the natural habitat, vs a clean fine art image are night and day apart!! I personally like both concepts, however something about the classic everglades pose, and surroundings.. keep one looking for the "Shot"!! Please click on the frame, to darken the bkg....

Cold Film Mood ...

Sometimes all you need to do is to wait until you come across something, things just happen and align nicely.

I shot a roll of Ilforn XP2 again, after a long while. I used it on the rather low and dull light, often present, when I was on the trip. I was not alone, so, there are always times you got to wait and usually your not in the mood or at the place you want to be to make photos. But I shot what caught my eye. (And yes, this is a Buddhist Tibetian Monastery).

If you scan XP2 you have the choice: treat it like CN film or b/w? I scanned it like color film and was a bit confused to get a duo-tone color rather than a single tint. It could be a fault of the scanner or my settings, but I found that quite interesting, this is really near to the kind of split toning I look for, often. All there more or less „random“ factors add up to frames, that I tend to like, really.
