Showing footage of where animal products come from and generating friendly and comprehensive conversations with interested people is one of the most effective and interesting forms of activism for animal rights.

In a more normal world, something as simple as showing where what people eat and pay for comes from shouldn't draw much attention much less cause controversy, but the fact is that the great majority of our society never saw, thought nor questioned where animal products come from nor the suffering their consumption causes.

In these photos I love to try to capture people's reactions when facing reality for the first time. In this first encounter, they can show disgust, denial, cognitive dissonance, sadness, anger, interest or indifference. There's those who run away and those who stay. Those who show and tell their children the truth and those who keep hiding it and perpetuating everything. And that first reaction and attitude when facing the reality they participate in says a great deal about that person. About their character, their values, their honesty, their courage or cowardice. Because they're facing the reality of an atrocious system, but at the same time facing themselves.

Cognitive science divides the brain into two distinct (left and right) hemispheres. Our personality can be thought of as a result of the degree to which these left and right brains interact. Left brain types are very analytical and orderly, while right brain types are visual, unpredictable, and intuitive. The left hemisphere is often thought of as the logical, objective side. Therefore, left brain dominant people tend to be mathematicians, librarians, bankers, doctors and the like.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder which is believed to disrupt brain development in many ways making it difficult for a person to differentiate between real and illusionary things. Those who suffer from this condition usually isolate themselves from family and friends and manifest symptoms like delusions, hallucinations, inability to concentrate, along with a surge in negative thoughts and suspicions.
