I was trying to get a good shot of this when the fly showed up.

This one was as the sun set picking the cobwebs. Dennis says he took this one - we share the camera!

I must have cobwebs on my mind because it seems as if I'm taking tons of pictures of them lately. I'm wondering if the increase of spiderwebs on my deck is the result of allowing the ball of spiders to live? Whatever the case may be I still find them to be a beautiful piece of art.

Hmmm - stairwell needs a clean...

Comments and tips welcome

Today we had the loft and cavity wall insulation done. Tamsin just couldn't resist going and having a peek at the loft to see how the men had got on!

A state of the art - 4bedroom house of a beautiful spider with complete serenit and peace hidden away from everything else, in a tree

Maybe it's that I'm addicted to my friend, Caity Wallace's fabulous scones and her business is called "The Wilde Thistle," but I've been posting various images of them lately. (The thistles -- not the scones...) This Cobweb Thistle was enjoying a sunbath at Sawmill Creek in the Eastern Sierra.

Please come follow my latest endeavor, the Wildflower Conservancy. You'll find lots of helpful information as well as reports from recent wildflower sightings. Thank you!

We haven't seen the sun up here for over a week, I think, apparently the UK is having a heatwave, an Indian Summer, not here! We have had very calm but very very dull weather, interminable Grey skies, mist and fog, it has been pleasant for walking and working, no gale force "breeze" for a change. The upside to this has been the water covered cobwebs in the garden, they looked fantastic and lingered all day due to the calm and damp weather. I had ignored them until yesterday, I then decided to get the macro lens out again and have a stab at photographing them.
