Clarion Alley, one block over from 17th Street between Valencia and Mission Streets, is filled with contemporary-style murals organized by the Clarion Alley Mural Project (CAMP). CAMP, directly inspired by Balmy Alley, was established in October 1992 with the dual goals of social inclusiveness and aesthetic variety by a volunteer collective of six North Mission residents: Aaron Noble, Michael O'Connor, Sebastiana Pastor, Rigo 92, Mary Gail Snyder, and Aracely Soriano.

Mojo Man by Kenneth Huerta II. This mural, located at the Mission Street end of Clarion Alley in San Francisco's North Mission district, begins at the top of the ground level and rises another two stories to the roof of the building. Huerta's work is immediately identifiable because of what appears to be distortions in his monochromatic depiction. These are caused by his "sketching", initially in collage, which enables him to access images quickly, then transferring them to the larger mural surface without gridding or projection.

Painted in 1994 by Daniel Segoria, a bartender at the Elbo Room on Valencia. In 1999, in response to taggers who were destroying the murals in the alley, Segoria added the words 'The life of any street art project is never long and it's getting shorter every day'. Apparently, Daniel's project has attained a certain respect from taggers having remained unmarred for many years without defacement. Clarion Alley is a small street between Mission and Valencia Streets and 17th and 18th Streets in the Mission District of San Francisco, California. Originally called "Cedar Lane," the alley's name was changed around the turn of the twentieth century to Clarion Alley. The street is notable for community and arts activity, including the Clarion Alley Mural Project (CAMP).
One of the many murals in Clarion Alley is this tribute to beat poet, activist and, radio host 'Diamond Dave Whitaker' (1940- ). 'Diamond Dave', as he is called, has written spoken word, organized protests, and taken direct action in support of the innocent, the disabled, the homeless, and all of those who have suffered the unfairness of our social system. "Cast a wide net" is the first line of his credo which he's quick to share in the jazz of his stream-of-consciousness speech......"find a common thread, let life flourish, don't panic, just keep it organic."
