A China made chess game. This is the paper game board. Chesses lost and no idea how they looked like. Anyway, the board is designed with battle scenes with the US troops. On the top and bottom are Quotations of Chairman Mao.

A very interesting collectible got from Chris To's web site of Chinese cultural revolution relics:

I was using my Mamiya TLR with the 180mm lens and wanted to get the last shot of the roll with the pigeons flying up in front of the chess game (sort of close to zero chance with the lens combination and the pigeons). As I was feeding them to collect them together this little girl and her parents came along and watched, The little girl then asked her mother something and her mother then passed the message on that the little girl would really really like to feed the pigeons. After I got over a small language barrier maybe Eastern European I said sure she could have some bread as long as she threw it where I was trying to collect the pigeons in one place. to take a picture. With a little bit of joint feeding we collected a fair sized group of pigeons, I then asked the parents if they minded if there daughter ran in and scared the pigeons while I took the photo. The father said sure but though it was going to be difficult to take the picture because she was very fast.

She ran in really quickly startling most of the pigeons into flight which in turn startled her, bringing her to an abrupt stop right in front of the camera lens.

Once again the pigeons foiled my attempt to capture them in flight while still managing a free meal.

First try at the Mac chess game. Ahhh, the computer won.

This carpet of "Flying Chess" caught my attention. My home used to have one which I have played with my friends or brothers in childhood.

Another angle on the chess-game . . .

and looking on ( in the red shorts ) is a sweet 13-year-old called Sheena -- who is Autistic ~ or should-I-say WAS autistic !

She is sweet-natured, and very intelligent, yet had only spoken rarely, until last year.

I always treat all the kids alike, and gave her a cheerful greeting every day.

One day, she came and sat next to me, put her head on my shoulder, and said very softly -- in perfect English --

"Love you, Uncle Geoff" ... and has been engaging in gentle conversation ever since !!!

She and Bella are the only two who have ever called me "Uncle Geoff".......

All the rest call me TATAY -- without exception !!
