Casual cood for a pretty usual day (it was hot as hell,btw.)

Day-to-day informal style; loose hair, no glasses.
Lightly GIMP'ed, mostly for color correction and then too smooth out the chroma noise that resulted. But also some smoothing of skin tones and sharpening of everything else.
To get a crop other than 8×10, work from the wide view.
Even if you're a casual photographer, you might be familiar with the Japanese term 'bokeh' — the artistic blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image. The bannister and resulting background bokeh of people is along the Western Ave walkway leading into Pike's Place Market.
Sadly, these days, bokeh is not so much to do with the artistic bent of the photographer but how good your Photoshop skills are - or, failing that, simply buying a plug-in that does the job for you. This though is the real McCoy.
