Tirau Dan got his new Olympus today, so we thought we would go out looking for shots as it was getting dark, it had been a very grey day with hardly any sunshine.
We were about 3 minutes from this spot taking shots of trees, cows and a slightly pink sky.
Suddenly we noticed the sky was going very red and our view to it was blocked by hills.
Back in the car we jumped then shot around the corner onto Highway 5 heading towards Tirau, where we got a better view of the sun in all its glory.
Tirau is straight ahead about 1 mile from the oncoming headlights.

Nothing remains of the vehicle - merely their light.
(Apologies for the fuzziness of the image - but this was handheld, propped against the bridge, on a six second exposure =:)
On a quiet back road that crosses near the Clackmannanshire Bridge, looking towards Alloa and the Ochil Hills.
After long day finishing up round the house, I headed out with a mate who also is a shutter bug...
Been wanting to do a test shot like this for a while and was a good time to do some long exposures and talk crap for a while/relax after massive weekend..
The shot isnt great but keen to work on some more shots like this..
Im at the point right now in my 365 that my life is just so super busy with work and generally that time is very difficult to find and get out and im really disappointing myself by shooting poorly thought through ideas or generic items that are easy round home.. really is failing what i set out to do...
In the next few weeks, Im really going to try to push to get out more and try things... well thats what this is all about... need to knuckle...
I have wanted to do a long exposure on car lights for soo long but don't like the idea of venturing out on my own. So dad and I went last night, there wasnt really a huge choice for where we could go that wasn't too far from home (all tired from the kids keeping us on our toes all day). Here is the dual carriageway to Monmouth, it wasn't particularly busy so we didn't have many opportunities. But we had so much fun doing it, and it was great sharing this experience with my dad who is also a photography enthusiast!
Since doing this, I can see how easily addicted one can become to long exposure work, loved it! Next time maybe I'll be near a cityscape or something to make it more exciting to look at!
