Nestled on the flats in the Wolgan Valley beside the Capertee River. Newnes is an old shale mining ghost town bordering Wollemi National Park. One of the more rugged in N.S.W
This is in Camp North End in Charlotte, NC. This urban development area was originally a Ford production plant in the 1920's, where Model T's were produced. Eventually, it became known as the Charlotte Area Munitions Plant (getting the name CAMP) where it helped develop the Nike Hercules missile - these mostly carried nuclear warheads. Today - it's a new urban development area that is retaining the old architecture and buildings.
Camp Kwiyamuntsi is a STEM and culture camp for Southern Paiute youth. This year, middle school students from five bands came together for four days of fun and learning on ancestral homelands now managed by federal agencies. Campers learned about natural resources management from western and tribal perspectives. Learning stations included wildlife biology, archaeology, wilderness survival, hydrology, astronomy, ethnobotany and fire ecology with emphases on native language, traditional use, education and career paths. The clay courts were literally right outside my room; however, very few people actually used them. Clay pebbles would get stuck in your shoes and the courts were very dry with dirt/sand getting on the balls/hands
A camp robber I found near the Coyote Creek Road. I cheated a bit with this shot, I tossed out my apple core to draw them in. If there is one thing a camp robber can't resist, is a free meal.

Camp Chase was a Civil War camp established in May 1861, on land leased by the U.S. Government. It served as a replacement for the much smaller Camp Jackson. Four miles west of Columbus, the main entrance was on the National Road. Boundaries of the camp were present-day Broad Street (north), Hague Avenue (east), Sullivant Avenue (south), and near Westgate Avenue (west). Named for former Ohio Governor and Lincoln's Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase, it was a training camp for Ohio volunteer army soldiers, a parole camp, a muster-out post, and a prisoner-of-war camp. The nearby Camp Thomas served as a similar base for the Regular Army.
As many as 150,000 Union soldiers and 25,000 Confederate prisoners passed through its gates from 1861–65. By February 1865, over 9,400 men were held at the prison. More than 2,000 Confederates are buried in the Camp Chase Cemetery
This was the view when I woke up in the morning. That is the North Sister, and it was taken from a camping spot on the Oregon Back Country Discovery Trail, Route 3. This spot is fairly close to HooDoo Ski Resort, where Route 3 begins.
