Edgar could hardly keep his eyes open in the studio tonight. He was very tired (as was made evident by his bright red nose, and bloodshot eyes). I managed to snap off a couple before he collapsed from exhaustion :-)

Black female American Pit Bull Terrier with white chest and toes markings and unusually light brown eyes, though that could be from the camera's flash. She has 3 days to be reclaimed by his owner or he will be euthanized due to the facility's policy of not adopting out APBTs.
Toby and the greyhounds (I think that was the breed!).
Look at that face! LOL! The expressions were priceless!
Note: These two were just having an absolute BALL! Massive amounts of play bows, wiggling butts and happy tails, and the greyhound was barking it's head off which Toby thought was SO bizarre lol. When we let them get close they would just wiggle and sniff and lick and then bow at each other and start dancing around. It was REALLY cute to see. Not a speck of DA in Toby at all, he was absolutely thrilled by the whole thing.
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a medium-sized, solidly built, short haired dog whose early ancestors came from England and Ireland. It is a member of the Molosser breed group. The American Staffordshire Terrier and The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) by breed are from the same lineage; Staffordshire’s was the name given by AKC, and American Pit Bull Terriers by UKC. The real difference between the two breeds is 6–8" in height and 25–35 lb in weight; the American Staffordshire Terrier being the larger of the two.
The dog was bred first to bait bulls and bears. When bear-baiting and bull-baiting were deemed inhumane, rat-baiting and dog fighting became more popular. The APBT Breed was used in both sports, and its prevalence in being put in pits with rats, or other dogs led to "pit" being added to its name.
this pup followed my little brother home. He belongs to one of his friends and his name is "mood eyes". he has the most beautiful eyes and him and tyson got along really well, even though tyson kept trying to hump him -.-

Well, on Tuesday Eddie tore one of his dew claws which ended up angled almost upwards and proceeded to bleed everywhere. To my suprise he didn't even cry. This was then followed by a trip to the vets where he was put under GA to have it removed. I was a tad worried because I had already given him breakfast just before this all happened, but the vet did wait until the late afternoon before putting him under and also gave him an anti-nausea injection to stop him from vomitting while under. Anyway all is fine, he was a massive sook when I picked him up from the vets. He was acting as if they had taken his entire leg off. Big sook. He was still super groggy, he let out these tiny little whimpers when he saw me. When I was trying to leave he got too excited seeing another dog and as I pulled him away from it he lost his footing and fell into the water bowl which went all over the clinic floor. *megafacepalm*
That night I had him on the bed with me while I was watching TV, he wouldn't stop shaking (from the post anaesthetic effects) so I covered him with a big blanket. Needless to say he did not move for a few hours. Spoilt.
He does have a bucket on his head for the next few days until the bandages can come off. It is Daley's old elizabeathen collar from when he had his surgeries. It is a size too big for Eddie so he keeps walking into everything and getting stuck. >_< ohwell, only for a few days.

The American Pit Bull is medium-sized, and has a short coat and smooth well-defined muscle structure. Its eyes are round to almond shaped, and its ears are small to medium in length and can be natural or cropped. The tail is slightly thick and tapers to a point. The coat is glossy, smooth, short, and stiff to the touch. The accepted coat color can vary widely, but, both the AKC and UKC do not recognize merle coloring.
Twelve countries in Europe, as well as Australia, Canada, Ecuador, Malaysia, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and Venezuela have enacted some form of breed-specific legislation on pit bull-type dogs, including American Pit Bull Terriers, ranging from outright bans to restrictions and conditions on ownership. The state of New South Wales in Australia places restrictions on the breed, including mandatory sterilization. A few counties, and cities in the United States as well as the Province of Ontario in Canada, have outright banned ownership of the American Pit Bull terrier, and the breed is banned in the UK. ~ Wikipedia®

The first day with the new laminate flooring and Petey didn't like it. We don't have any rugs yet. We kept catching him falling asleep standing up, he refused to lay down on the laminate. He would stand by us, and lay his head on the couch and try to fall asleep. Finally he found his best solution yet, Faith, the giant pillow!

Once he gets the thing in his mouth he LOVES to just run in a circle with it, exactly like a horse on a lunge bar - cracks us up but it REALLY exercises him without killing us lol.
Even though this isn't in focus, I love the way the shadows show off his muscles, lol.
Pirate Eddie?
I always seem to capture Eddie pulling some odd facial expressions.... I think he has more of a range than I do!

Brindle is a coat coloring pattern in animals, particularly dogs, cattle, guinea pigs, crested geckos and, rarely, horses. It is sometimes described as "tiger striped", although the brindle pattern is more subtle than that of a tiger's coat. The streaks of color are irregular and usually darker than the base color of the coat, although very dark markings can be seen on a coat that is only slightly lighter.

I’ve been staring at this drawing for about six or seven months and finally got around to painting it. Blondie passed in June of 2012 leaving a pretty big hole in our hearts. I was trying to figure out how to render the background. Either I render it as a detailed backdrop or a vignette of some sort. Then I saw a figurative painting in which an artist used a palette knife to lay in the background and I had my “a-ha“ moment. So here it is and I’m happy with the outcome.
Original painting is 8x10" oil on canvas.
