Agnes just flopping around being a happy, lazy pit bull.

Logo for SLCo Pit Crew. Drawn in Illustrator. I was honored to design a logo for the Pit Crew. The Pit Crew program was developed to increase the number of "short haired muscular mutt" adoptions in Salt Lake County shelter system, to increase responsible ownership, and help many more of these wonderful family pets find loving, permanent homes. Can't beat that! ©2010

The dogs had fun running around in the snow. They'd run into the garage, burst out and run to the fence, and then back again.

Solid white red nose male American Pit Bull Terrier with red brown eye patch, natural ears and some wounds on feet and chest.

This dog has three days to be claimed by owner or a valid 501c3 rescue or it will be killed/euthanized as this Houston facility does not adopt pit bulls or pit bull mixes to the public.

Toby and the greyhounds (I think that was the breed!)

There they bare, all dancing ... the opther two greyhounds either tried to join in, or were just watching with this bemused look on their faces lol.

Note: These two were just having an absolute BALL! Massive amounts of play bows, wiggling butts and happy tails, and the greyhound was barking it's head off which Toby thought was SO bizarre lol. When we let them get close they would just wiggle and sniff and lick and then bow at each other and start dancing around. It was REALLY cute to see. Not a speck of DA in Toby at all, he was absolutely thrilled by the whole thing.

Two month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Puppy

This may be the coolest and sweetest dog ever. Currently, he is staying with us until we can find him a loving forever home.

The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a medium-sized, solidly built, short haired dog whose early ancestors came from England and Ireland. It is a member of the Molosser breed group. The American Staffordshire Terrier and The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) by breed are from the same lineage; Staffordshire’s was the name given by AKC, and American Pit Bull Terriers by UKC. The real difference between the two breeds is 6–8" in height and 25–35 lb in weight; the American Staffordshire Terrier being the larger of the two.

The dog was bred first to bait bulls and bears. When bear-baiting and bull-baiting were deemed inhumane, rat-baiting and dog fighting became more popular. The APBT Breed was used in both sports, and its prevalence in being put in pits with rats, or other dogs led to "pit" being added to its name.

Thank you Torrie! You're the best. ~ Love Sydney & Nikia

Panik "hiking" her Jolly Egg as if she were an NFL center.

Toby and the greyhounds (I think that was the breed!)

Toby getting barked and barked and barked at .... he only barked near the very end when he finally caught on that the other dog expected him to and wanted him to lol. The expressions of everyone that was watching this exchange were as priceless as the expressions of the dogs themselves!

What a great ambassador for the breed.

He found his first big stick. I took it away to look it over, and saw this at my feet. So I just HAD to grab a camera and take some shots. LOL.

for making her do all sorts of silly things for me.

Panik hopping out of the kiddie pool sideways.

Cute solid white body female pit bull terrier mix with dark eye spot and ear. She has 3 days to be reclaimed by his owner or she will be euthanized due to the facility's policy of not adopting out APBTs.

Edgar could hardly keep his eyes open in the studio tonight. He was very tired (as was made evident by his bright red nose, and bloodshot eyes). I managed to snap off a couple before he collapsed from exhaustion :-)

Well, on Tuesday Eddie tore one of his dew claws which ended up angled almost upwards and proceeded to bleed everywhere. To my suprise he didn't even cry. This was then followed by a trip to the vets where he was put under GA to have it removed. I was a tad worried because I had already given him breakfast just before this all happened, but the vet did wait until the late afternoon before putting him under and also gave him an anti-nausea injection to stop him from vomitting while under. Anyway all is fine, he was a massive sook when I picked him up from the vets. He was acting as if they had taken his entire leg off. Big sook. He was still super groggy, he let out these tiny little whimpers when he saw me. When I was trying to leave he got too excited seeing another dog and as I pulled him away from it he lost his footing and fell into the water bowl which went all over the clinic floor. *megafacepalm*

That night I had him on the bed with me while I was watching TV, he wouldn't stop shaking (from the post anaesthetic effects) so I covered him with a big blanket. Needless to say he did not move for a few hours. Spoilt.

He does have a bucket on his head for the next few days until the bandages can come off. It is Daley's old elizabeathen collar from when he had his surgeries. It is a size too big for Eddie so he keeps walking into everything and getting stuck. >_< ohwell, only for a few days.
