I was always interested in this bad boy... I'm excited to get to know this lens!

I bet you don't see this everyday. My hair in colorful bubble wrap curlers? How fun! I'm wearing a shirt and tie at Carmen's beauty salon.

Waiting to make his appearance.

My first try at Scanography. It was really fun to experiment, so I want to try some more in the future.

With this image, I wanted to show not only a variety of textures, but also a contrast between life and death.

My favorite thing about this image? MY FISHBONE! It was actually from a fish I was eating about a month and a half ago. I was so surprised that it was so strong and perfect that I decided to keep it. I spent some time cleaning it out with a toothbrush and soap (and even some bleach to try to reduce the smell), and then put it out in the sun to dry. It still stinks like fish, but I love it! (I even have it in a safe box with bubblewrap lol)

I will certainly use it again! ;-P

Popping the bubbles in bubble wrap is so addictive 😜

This is a piece of metalised bubble wrap tape which I use on my outside tap to keep the frost off during the winter months. Taken just before I removed the tape for the season ahead.

Sealing:

At the end I seal all paint with Mr. Super Clear UV Cut matte spray and I seal naturally glossy features (eyes, lips and nails) with acrylic gloss varnish. The painted surface becomes waterproof, but I do not recommend wetting it on purpose. Elliot’s unsealed face, however, has survived from swimming in the salty ocean and having a big cat sleep right on it.

Signing:

For a full OOAK experience, I will sign the back of your doll’s head if you wish so and include a graphic certificate of authenticity, at no extra charge.

Other info:

I do not take partial repaints or any other fixing work at the moment, only full repaints. I do not repaint previously repainted dolls or reroot previously rerooted dolls unless their heads are already clean and in a good condition when they arrive to me. If you are outside the EU, there may be a tax or customs fee for you by your own country’s customs upon the arrival of your doll(s). There may also be similar fees when I receive your doll(s), and in that case I charge them from you. I work in a smoke free home. I have cats, but I do not let them sleep with anyone else’s dolls but my own. On occasion a single cat hair may still be found in your package. Please make sure that the dolls you send me to be customized are totally clean, and pack them into a sturdy box with their faces protected with something soft such as bubble wrap. I ship double boxed so that dolls have bubblewrap around them and they are attached to the inner box with tape; their faces are turned to the side and have air around them, but their bodies don't have space to move.

Please note that I need the full doll to be sent whether you want the body enhancements or not, because I like to photograph my patients in their full glory once finished, and I can't guarantee that the paint or the sealant won't get damaged if the face is squeezed, wet or heated when the head is put on the body. I usually don't remove and attach dolls' heads anymore after I'm finished with their faces. When I have done that, the lips have in some cases lost a bit of paint, and I have had to fix them. I paint multiple layers, so there is always a possibility that some paint from the top layers gets rubbed off if treated in the way I described.

Please feel free to ask any questions and make suggestions. Message me privately if you would like to send your doll as a patient. If you have ever wanted to own a doll repainted by me, now is your chance to get one for a good price with all the free extra enhancements. ;-)

Thirty Strangers - One Question: What makes you happy?

As this project is almost over, I kind of wish that I had gone to more locations. A very large portion of the shots were taken on Degraves St and that little lane just past it (I can never remember it's name). Those two areas were so easy for this because it's just filled with interesting looking people. And I suppose easier because nobody is really shopping or doing anything there except smoking, eating, or passing through. Also the backgrounds look really nice as well because it's really busy and the lighting is soooo delicious.

I'm glad I only chose thirty people for this project, because if I hadn't i'd still be going for a while yet. I'm looking forward to maybe doing some self portraits again, this project has just occupied most of my time and i couldn't think of doing anything else. Perhaps because it was just easymode. I'm not the one who has to do any thinking about being creative, someone else is doing that for me... I just have to find them.

I'm looking forward to other things :)

I'm helping out a former boss through the Christmas season and decided to take my camera with me this morning...it's ok if anyone wants to guess what this is...I figure it's pretty simple.

Onyx' stain after 3 1/2 weeks in bubblewrap. There is still a light blue mark, but that actually looks like a healing bruise. It's hardly visable anymore on photographs though, especially out in the sun ^_^

I'm sooo happy i found this out by accident, thanks to a very busy week!

Lighting up Bankside

A colour changing lighting scheme for Southwark Street was unveiled at the beginning of August 2008. Funded through the Section 106 associated with the Bankside Mix development and Land Securities, the project is unnamed to allow for interpretation and has already been likened to "Smarties", "Daleks" by one avid Dr Who fan and "Bubble wrap".

To create a link between the two structures but also to address the ongoing problem of unattractive illegal hoardings and fly posting, the idea of using feature light was conceived and the project developed to create a feature through the use of colour.

Just coloured spots?

In bright multi colour circular lights, the piece provides a fun and bright feature in the bridge environment which is one of the main gateways to Bankside from London Bridge. But there is an added extra, this scheme also acts as an informal clock with the lights slowly changing from a shower of multicolour to a wall of solid colour on the hour and half hour.

Energy efficiency

The lights were adapted by the supplier Aquila Design especially for this project to use colour changing LEDS. The lights which run both day and night run on less energy than it takes to power a kettle.

Things get a little weird around here this time of year...

Working on plastic bag space suits and can’t find a glue that works... long story short I learned that my food-saver vacuum sealer will seal regular plastic bags and bubble wrap too! Trying to design patterns that only contain straight “seams.”

(Here is Midge (Grey’s body!🙀) modeling the first Bubble Wrap Coat that is held together with tape and still holding: flic.kr/p/2hmEGHX I made that version around early March of 2019...)

Nocturne emerging from protective bubble wrap when she was opened

Gilligan: Jefa wants us to clean up this mess from the new girl's unboxing. Do you know where I can find a broom?

Pascal: Not really. You could always use your hair!

Gilligan: Ha, ha. Very funny. What do you think of her?

Pascal: Not much. I didn't get any chocolate orange minis when I arrived.

Gilligan: Me neither. Maybe we should have been singing.

Pascal: That's a silly name Jefa gave her: Fais Do Do. Should we just call her Fais?

Gilligan: I think DoDo has a better ring to it!

Pascal: Hmm. Bubble wrap -- you thinking what I'm thinking?

Yey for Friday! Was another one of those I can't be bothered to take a photo days, but someone kindly sent me some books wrapped in bubblewrap which gave me an easy target.
