Inspired by the Limoncello Bread Pudding at Carrabba's. This is INSANELY good! So good I had two servings, back-to-back. But let's keep that a secret, k?? ;)

brunch at blue butcher with sis n gis -- salad bar, oysters, prawns, foie gras, free flow prosecco, roast rib eye on the bone, waffle, 3 desserts (chocolate bread & butter pudding, shortbread, mango sorbet)
Made with wholesome ingredients and a lot of love, for my coworkers on Sunday morning, inventory day. I thought I would bring a treat to get our day started right!
Ingredients include: a big loaf of organic raisin & cinnamon bread from Farrell's, turbinado sugar (aka "sugar in the raw") & pure maple syrup, fresh eggs, coconut milk and organic whole milk, extra virgin coconut oil and butter, and a special sauce made with butterscotch schnapps. :)
I went off this recipe and added my substitutions:

My search for the best bread pudding has ending and I only had to go to El 24 De La Paloma, Burgos Spain. This piece of bread, soaked in milk and torched to crystallize the sugar is worth the plane fare.
I have been trying to find a recipe for the Plums we harvested and found a Cinnamon-Flavored Plum Brioche Pudding recipe that looked good. Based on this recipe, I made 2 pans using these ingredients:
A loaf of Cinnamon Walnut Raisin Bread
24 small Plums
3 tbsp Sugar
several pinches of Ground Cinnamon
a couple pinches of Ground Cloves
3 Eggs
1 can Evaporated Milk
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Butter

A strange food day today as I ate breakfast late, then didn't have lunch before going out tovisit my friend, Priya. So she gave me a snack and then I bought bread pudding on the way between her place and Sainsbury's. I'd been expecting to cook just for me this evening but that changed so Ihad to think of something for dinner for two.
Breakfast: two crumpets with pro activ spread.
Lunch (at Priya's) Alpen light bar and Muller Light yogurt
Snack at Priya's: fruity mini bits 15g
Afternoon: 200g bread pudding from Greggs
Dinner: 136g potatoes, 65g steak, 60g lamb, 162g corn on the cob, 120g runner beans, 28g onions fried in fry-light
Supper: 198g summer pudding & 90g Total fat ree greek yoghurt
Exercise for the day: one hour walking and an hour and a quarter yoga.

Joe's Bread Pudding
Fill a buttered baking dish with cubed bread that's past its prime.
Sprinkle the bread with about 1/4 c raisins, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp nutmeg.
In a bowl, combine the following:
4 eggs, beaten
2 c milk (we used reconstituted powder)
2/3 c brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Pour the bowl's mixture over the bread and smush the bread down.
Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes. Should be firm, not soggy.
Walnut glazed bread pudding as seen on a salad bar. Don't forget to save room for dessert on Turkey Day.
I used Tom Fitzmorris' Baked Alaska Bread Pudding and Richard Collins' recipes and used chocolate chips instead of raisens. I think I put to much choc chips; it taste more like chocolate chip cookie pudding. But you know, it is hard not to go back for seconds.
Homemade bread pudding, using baguette, brandy, and egg custard. I used very little sugar, so I topped it with a drizzle of maple syrup and a spoonful of apricot and kernal jam.
,,holding her hands in a square shape more or less the size of the top of this hunk of bread pudding.. What she didn't say was that it was a freakin' cube, just as tall as it was wide.. We almost never order dessert, but decided to splurge. We definitely bit off more than we could chew with this one.. Those are not small spoons at all.
Warning - this dessert is larger than it appears!

One of the great desserts served at the "Just Desserts" fundraiser at the Newark Arts Alliance - bread pudding from the Iron Hill Brewery. Yum!
