Gator, Brazos Bend SP

Kay(mathteacher) and I took a trip to Brazos Bend State Park this morning to photograph wildlife. On the way down one of the hike/bike trails we came upon this guy right beside the path. We weren't sure if we should walk past him or not until a bicyclist came along and said they really don't bother people because they are so accostomed to humans being in the area. So, with renewed confidence, we took his picture and slipped right on by without incident.

One of the park volunteers (sorry, don't know his name) is standing guard by a 6 foot alligator to make sure that none of the park visitors stumble on it. That might not end well.

A pair of white ibis forage for bugs at the waters edge. Sometimes you can see whole flocks of these beautiful birds flying overhead.

The two trees are a pretty well known photo landmark at Brazos Bend State Park. I caught a picture of them at sunset
