Echinacea is a genus, or group of herbaceous flowering plants in the daisy family. The genus Echinacea has ten species, which are commonly called coneflowers. They are found only in eastern and central North America, where they grow in moist to dry prairies and open wooded areas. They have large, showy heads of composite flowers, blooming from early to late summer. Species are herbaceous, drought-tolerant perennial plants growing up to 140 cm in height. The flowers are collected together into single rounded heads at the ends of long peduncles. Like all members of the sunflower family, the flowering structure is a composite inflorescence, with rose-colored (rarely yellow or white) florets arranged in a prominent, somewhat cone-shaped head – 'cone-shaped' because the petals of the outer ray florets tend to point downward (are reflexed) once the flower head opens, thus forming a cone. 36057

King Boreekee
I am usually very good at naming pets and finding names and nicknames for people, companies, and things.
When we adopted Boreekee eight years ago, he was a very large 8-month-old kitten. In his case, choosing a good name that suited our new family member was a real struggle, and it took weeks. My wife and I finally decided on Boris, which we thought was a good enough name for a large orange tiger.
A few days later, I was off from work and my wife was out. Bored, I decided that I would train him to recognize his name. "Boris!" I called out. "Boris! Boris! Boris!" This went on for a while to no avail. He didn't even turn around and look at me, but continued to look calmly out the window.
About fifteen minutes into this fool's game, he calmly turned around, looked me in the eye, and said "Bohhreeekeh!" and then turned around to look out the window again.
"Hmm," I thought. "Maybe he just told me what his name actually is."
"Boreekee," I called.
"Boreekeh!" he said, and calmly walked over and sat next to me on the sofa, purring.
