Pieces from Treehouse, a game which uses "Icehouse" pieces. They're very flexible, and are used in dozens of different games.

As always, you can find more details at Cliffs and Ruins, my photo-a-day blog!

From the annual JBM

Jeff and I had a ton of fun at the BoardGameGeek convention in Texas a couple of weeks ago. Huge thanks to the #BGGcon staff, sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible! I believe approx 3200 attended (possibly more?).

Feel free to scoop/share/repost/tag if know the people in the photo won't mind; a photo credit would be appreciated, thanks!

Feel free to share/repost for personal use, if you know the people in the photo won't mind. Also feel free to tag people in these photos but again, only if you know the people won't mind.

If you like board/tabletop games or want to know more, I highly recommend you checking out the amazing community over at BoardGameGeek.com/ They're doing their annual fundraising campaign right now (I just donated) and LOOK, one of the photos I took is at the top of the page: boardgamegeek.com/support I'm grateful to the BGG community for so many reasons. One of them: they supported me and my art years before any of my children's books got published -- I so appreciate their early encouragement of my comics. :-)

Prototype of Rampage, a game launching from Repos Productions and Asmodee at Essen. LOTS O' RAMPAGING FUN (will post a picture of the board post-Rampage later). :-D Posted with permission of Repos Productions.

Similar to theme to King Of Tokyo, except Rampage involves dexterity skills (hurling of buses, throwing things at buildings and other player monsters, monstrous blowing, etc.), variable player powers, and eating of meeple characters (journalists, military, blondes, etc.).

Highly entertaining to play and watch, plus lots of opportunity for witty trashtalking of one's opponents!

Game designers: Antoine Bauza & Ludovic Maublanc. Artist: Pierô. Published by Repos Production and Asmodee.

Video about the game (in French)

Every year in mid-November, Jeff and I attend a board gaming convention called BGG in Dallas, Texas. For us, it's a chance to catch up with gaming friends, make new friends and play some games. I find that each year, it becomes more about the people and less about the games. I do a lot of livetweeting from my gaming acct: twitter.com/BGGgirl.

Feel free to scoop any for personal use or to promote the convention; a photo credit would be appreciated when possible (either tag me, link to @BGGgirl on Twitter, or "Photo: Debbie Ridpath Ohi" etc.). Because I took a LOT of photos and also have to dive into work catch-up, I am unable to fulfill individual requests (e.g. "Could you please send me that photo you took of me on Saturday"); it's why I'm uploading high res versions to Flickr.

Please don't tag people unless you're sure they won't mind being tagged.

Meanwhile, I'm already counting down the days until next year's BGG convention!! You can find out more about BGG events at boardgamegeek.com/bggcon and the website/community at boardgamegeek.com/
