Jeff and I had a ton of fun at the BoardGameGeek convention in Texas a couple of weeks ago. Huge thanks to the #BGGcon staff, sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible! I believe approx 3200 attended (possibly more?).
Feel free to scoop/share/repost/tag if know the people in the photo won't mind; a photo credit would be appreciated, thanks!

If you like board/tabletop games or want to know more, I highly recommend you checking out the amazing community over at BoardGameGeek.com/ They're doing their annual fundraising campaign right now (I just donated) and LOOK, one of the photos I took is at the top of the page: boardgamegeek.com/support I'm grateful to the BGG community for so many reasons. One of them: they supported me and my art years before any of my children's books got published -- I so appreciate their early encouragement of my comics. :-)
Thanks to the BGG staff, sponsors and volunteers for a wonderful event! Will be posting more photos in Part 2.

Errors from my first game of pendur.
Designer's comments:
1. The piece under the selected piece must be the fullfilled blue square. So that is matches, the inner (virtual) symbol must be defined as blue square. That you can build up on level 1, the inner symbol of the new piece must correspond to the inner symbol on level 0 (blue square). But the new inner symbol is a blue circle.
2. I dont know what piece is under the selected one. There is no piece the matches.
And this was the situation after the game and dinner ended at almost the same time. After some discussion, we believe it is a draw.
We borrowed two kids' games from a friend of ours: Go Away Monster and Snail's Pace Race. Both have been big hits with Makayla. Even Lukas enjoys throwing the dice for Snail's Pace Race.
The game consist of 6 colored snails racing to reach the cabbage patch. Players take turns rolling two dice and then move the corresponding snails by 1 space. Players don't own a specific color so the kids are meant to cheer on the snails as they make their way to their snack. It's a great game for teaching the concept of turns, colors, hand-eye coordination and basic counting.

A game of Hive during breakfast this morning. This was near the end of the game, which Black eventually won.
