Due to the fact that there are many bird related research in the park, many of their birds have rings on their legs.
Distinctive brownish flycatcher found in Borneo’s central and southeastern highland forests. Brown above and gray below, with a warm coffee-brown face and eye-catching white eyebrows and throat patch. Also note warm rufous tones in the wings and tail. Forages close to or on the ground, often with mixed-species flocks. Can be quite tame and allow close approach. Gives a bubby rattling trill when alarmed.

I feel like I know this old bird. His beak is worn out and his feathers are gray, but he still has his tail feathers.

A Bird of Paradise plant at the park. Native to South Africa apparently (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strelitzia), but quite common around here.
I'd have been better to use the iPhone's HDR mode for this shot, but didn't, so Skylum Aurora to the rescue.

Ramphocelus flammigerus -male to the left, female to the right- (Flame-rumped Tanager / Toche)
The Flame-rumped Tanager occurs from western Panama south through Colombia to western Ecuador. This is a sociable bird, being typically found in monospecific flocks, which inhabit shrubby semi-open areas.

American White Pelicans and Ring-billed Gulls share a sand bar on Lake Thunderbird, Norman, OK. Both species winter on large Oklahoma impoundments.

A warm but clear morning at Laratinga Wetlands, Mt Barker South Australia had the birds super active giving me the opportunity for this image.
