Love the design of these new apartments in Canary Wharf, they remind me of little bird houses. Taken last year, pre-Covid, when wandering the streets was much more fun - even if it was pouring with rain at the time!

So many birds specifically gulls in a portion of the sky.

Backyard birds, Yakima County, Washington. There has been an increase in the number of American Goldfinches recently. There were probably 30 in my yard September 10, mostly feeding on sunflower seeds produced on my sunflower plants. Flowers are still blooming so I should have seeds for sometime. Adults are still feeding young which seems late. I am seeing California Scrub Jays almost every day (1 or 2) and Western Tanagers (also 1 or 2) several times a week now in my yard. Two immature male Anna's Hummingbirds are regular visitors to my feeders. IMG_1508

This was taken right outside our window. We were lucky enough to have had a cardinal couple make their home so near ours. This is one of a very few Kodachrome shots I have ever made.

This bird, the cardinal, is the state bird of Illinois and half a dozen other states.

The little bird looks so beautiful on the tree with it's spring red flowers in Peckham Rye Park today

I know this has been done many times, but I wanted to try it for myself. So, this is the Big Grey Mare version. Hope you like it. It kind of makes me dizzy, and the birds look so small, but, you have to admit; it's different than the others that have been around Flickr.

Most of my pictures are taken in and around the city of Molde, witch is the capital of Møre og Romsdal, in the country of Norway

This one was taken is not far from the city limits of Molde

#The white wagtail is a small passerine bird in the family Motacillidae, which also includes pipits and longclaws. The species breeds in much of Europe and the Asian Palearctic and parts of North Africa. It has a toehold in Alaska as a scarce breeder.#

Here is two magpies enjoying the view from the top, this was taking at Mt Panorama in Bathurst NSW Australia.

Having spent the day photographing migrating birds, the sunset that evening over the wetlands seemed apropos — clouds that arranged themselves to resemble a bird's wing.

Just sit still and smile for the camera!

I wasn't able to catch this little guy in flight. That little patch of red you see on the wing in these shots is nothing compared to how he looked in flight. And he sang the sweetest song. Gorgeous!

The animal is ignorant of the fact that he knows. The man is aware of the fact that he is ignorant.

Not sure what bird it is. I am sure someone will enlighten me? Female chaffinch perhaps?

Cardinals, like all other birds, molt. When a bird molts, it loses a few feathers at a time. When new feathers grow in their place, the bird loses a few more. A cardinal molts at least once a year, usually in late summer or early fall. It seems to me that he has lost more than a few feathers!! LOL

We also have a molting female and yet some of our Cardinals have not started to molt yet.

Have a great Sunday and thanks for your visits!!

A Birds Eye View of the waves crashing on the rocks.

Looking west wards from South Ronaldsay over the Pentland Firth.

Waiting for the winter cold snap to ease. I found out the tree is a China Berry and it is toxic to animals and humans. Not sure why the Council plants trees like this, they are very pretty but also damaging. Apparently birds get high on the berries. There is an apricot tree down the same alleyway, a much better idea for birds and people to eat.

I tried a little backyard bird photography this week. I believe it takes more patience than I have...
