This was a big edit, but it was for Grandma's Christmas cards so it was an important one. I took more than two dozen shots of this pose. You can see in the before picture just how well that went :) But having that many photos gave me something to work with. Here's what I did:

1. Seven head swaps. I started here because I wanted the dimensions and exposure to be the same on the pics I swapped from as the pic I was swapping to.

2. Crop

3. Clone stamp and healing brush to extend the backdrop on the sides, and to fix a crease in the paper where it hits the edge of my plywood (can't use a paper drop on carpet).

4. Slight lighten with curves

5. MCP magic skin -- LOVE it

6. Slight bump to saturation and contrast

7. Sharpen

8. Healing brush to fix their little owies

9. And then, just because the zebra stripes on the stools were bugging me, I put a black overlay on them.

Done!

The other day @rapunali17 and I got a bunch of Disney dolls at the flea market that included this lovely Moana singing doll. Her previous owner cut her hair, so I thought of doing Moana’s cute little messy top knot bun on her 😄 I think she came out okay 👍 What do you think?

before and after pictures of our new bathroom - cabinets, mirror, paint, and cellular shade

The background is from deviantart.com, tan boudoir wall paper, it was in a set I downloaded. Also used Florabella textures, Cherish(warm) and Attache(b&w). I blurred the textures over her face to get rid of the dark texture but keep the tone. The I blurred the orig photo in upper left corner & lower right corner to show the texture better. Adjusted levels & contrast on her face & body.

Sorry for the low quality, there was no preparation or setting.

I made the idea as simple and as clear as i could.

My wife had been meaning to schedule an appointment with her stylist for the past month or so but kept forgetting. She decided to let me have a go at it. Some stray long bits were discovered after washing and were trimmed off after taking this pictures. Oh, and she really didn't like the dip I put in the bangs, so that got trimmed off too.

I like the haircut, but she thinks it's too short. I have to admit that she does look happier in the before pictures.

My most interesting picture as of April 13th, 2011

Another Weezerbee find. "Look at the baby Common Yellowthroat!" What? Where? "Right over there!" My lightroom adjustments: sharpen the bird. Fuzz the background. Boost the color intensity.

FULL SIZE

-sharpened and added soft vingette in ACR

-used Leah Profanciks's "Leah's Color" action, with some adjustments. (I always have to adjust the brightness almost all the way down and color pop layer about half way.)

-smidge of portraiture

I've recently joined a group that shares postprocessing Before and After images.

I'm hoping to learn something :-)

This is my fourth Before/After.

f4; 1/1000/ ISO 80.

Made selections and used dodge&burn.

Applied more contrast to selected areas.

Increased colour saturation.

Applied some colour filters to the water.

I am aiming for natural looking nature images :-)

I love retouching and editing picture and I thought you might want to see one of the before and after I did .

I edited that picture quite a while ago, so this is not a new image.

I chose this picture because the style is very well know from Jill Greenberg's children series.

The picture was taken by Dragonfly Imaging and is copyright protected.

- First image is SOOC. I did basic clarity, contrast, sharpness and color adjustments in the RAW edits.

Before & After By Hala Ajam

Aly donated her hair today~I'm so proud of her! She looks adorable~

~~~~~~LOCKS OF LOVE~~~~~~
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
Another before and after, wow, this one was a lot of work. Gum removal, major skin work, etc. I purposefully underexposed the shot so I wouldn't totally blow the background because I knew I could bring her skin back up in LR.
