I really miss my camera. I wanted to get a couple shots of Chinatown in case I end up moving away in May, but this is just ridiculous. Some other people have taken much prettier photos.
Yes - it's an evil invasive species, but the coconutty smell of the gorse along the water reminded me of the UK.

The Lake is really more of a pond, but either way it's all dried up at this time of year. The white powdery substance is and alkaline residue left from the run-off after the water evapourates off. Since there is no outflow, it's settles here.
Great place to spend a Wednesday night - wine is on for cost + $6.00. Again - not leaning, that's just my crappy temporary camera.
So it was a little claustrophobic in here, but I had to take at least one touristy "look how big the trees are out here!" photo... The next photo will give you a better sense of scale.
