“AuthentiCity” is a photography project conceived in cooperation with the School of Visual Arts (SVA), New York, aimed at young international artists who are SVA students or alumni.
The project theme – “Revealing purity and authenticity in urban life” – is an invitation to use the straightforward language of photography to explore signs of authenticity and purity in the urban setting.
The project began with more than 200 photographers, educated at SVA, who were charged with capturing their vision of urban life. The 19 works selected in the preliminary stage were presented last April in an open exhibition during the Milan Design Week. Five of the 19 photographers, Carlos Alvarez Montero, Igor Aronov, Matthew Baum, Giselle Behrens and Caroline Shepard, were then selected, through a series of juror selections, to continue their work and each received a cash prize of $3000.00. Project winners were then chosen to be featured in the dedicated exhibition at the illy issimo AuthentiCity Lounge in New York.

Anna is now fully deboxed. Her skirts are stiff enough to permit her to free stand, although she a bit unstable this way. She is posed standing, supported by her included doll stand. All photos were taken with the built-in camera flash.
Anna is in her coronation gown, with a velvet black bodice and green skirt. The bodice is form fitting, with multicolored embroidery and jewels, with a dark green satin shoulder straps. Her outer skirt is made of panels of yellow green embroidered and jeweled satin alternating with plain dark green satin panels, the pattern repeating ten times. The lighter green panels are tacked together with plastic T-tabs, so we don't see the full extent of the skirt. When the sections are freed, the skirt can expand to a full semicircle. Under the skirt is a full length yellow green satin slip, with a wide lacy hem. Under that is a 3/4 length stiff tulle petticoat. Under that are yellow green satin knee-length bloomers. Finally under that are full length stockings or leggings. Anna is certainly dressed for cold weather. Her legs are wired to the doll stand at the ankles and knees. Her feet are posable, and she is wearing black flats, which is rather disappointing given the gorgeous and unique shoes that Elsa is wearing. She is wearing a necklace, with the pendant stuck to her chest.
Her face is very movie accurate. She has a round face, with huge blue green eyes, long gently curving rooted eyelashes, thin dark brown eyebrows. She has a small pointy nose, thin dark pink lips in a slight smirk, and large round ears. She has orange freckles all over her face, extending down to her neck, shoulders and chest, and even on her upper back. She has a very pale complexion, but her sister Elsa is much, much paler. Her body is the usual LE Princess body, with full articulation in her arms and legs, and an upper torso joint. Her rusty red hair is fashioned into a large bun in the back of her head, with a spiraling braid around a small bun in the middle, out of which comes several thin ponytails, including two very skinny braids, and also several satin ribbons. In front are long curly bangs, and a tight flat braid over it. There is a streak of white hair from her right side, and ending in one of the thin pony tails hanging off the small bun.
Anna is very beautiful and elegant, very much a Disney Princess.
First look at the Harrods special edition of the Disney Store's Limited Edition Anna and Elsa Doll Set. I purchased it through a reseller, as it was only sold at the Harrods London store. It was released on November 1, 2013, in an edition of 100. The retail cost is more than four times that of the separately sold LE Anna and Elsa dolls (which will be released worldwide on November 20, 2013, in an edition size of 2500). My set is #39 of 100, and I received it on November 11, 2013.
They are 17'' fully articulated dolls, with doll stands and certificated of authenticity. Anna is in her coronation gown, Elsa is in her Snow Queen gown. As might be expected, the dolls are considerably different in details than the ''regular'' limited edition dolls. In particular there is considerably more crystals on the outfits, and embroidered snowflakes completely cover the outer gown (cape) of Elsa. Also, Elsa's skin has a pearly shiny surface, very similar to the skin of LE Ursula, although it has a much paler purplish color. She has unique shoes, iridescent blue high heeled shoes with a snowflake design. She also bucks the trend of fully articulated legs in the Limited Edition dolls, by having fixed angled feet. She looks much more elegant with fixed feet in the high heels.

PLACES: NYC, USA
While shooting with my Canon DSLR, I discovered its amazing video capability. Hypothetically, if I shoot at 24 frames per second, that means that I can have thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of frames as material for still images from just a few minutes of video, after the visual effects are in place. This body of work is about the places that I visit in NYC, with my camera for photo opportunities.
Overlooking the Delaware River, Historic New Castle is the oldest continuously occupied town in the Delaware Valley. And, thanks to preservation efforts, this vibrant, fully occupied community remains one of the most important Colonial/Federal villages in America – second only to Williamsburg, Virginia in the number and authenticity of its historic structures. The New Castle Court House Museum is part of the the First State National Historical Park.
New Castle, originally named Fort Casimir, was founded in 1651 by Peter Stuyvesant, who was sent to provide the Dutch with command of all river traffic. Because of its strategic location, ownership of the settlement was constantly changing. The flags of the Netherlands, Sweden and Great Britain have all flown over New Castle.
The three counties which make up the state of Delaware were added to William Penn’s lands in America. In 1682, Penn came ashore at New Castle and took possession, but these counties, which were well established, became dissatisfied with Penn’s rule. In 1704, when he granted them a separate legislature, New Castle became the colonial capitol of Delaware. The lively town also briefly served as the first state capital, and continued as the county seat until the 1880’s.
New Castle’s location made it an ideal transfer point for trips up and down the coast. As a result, New Castle was a thriving community throughout the 1700’s and early 1800’s. The courts and general assembly also attracted various judges, lawyers and government officials who built handsome houses, many of which still remain. The Great Fire of 1824, which started in the stables behind the Jefferson House, claimed many of the inns and warehouses located on The Strand. Among the buildings destroyed was the modest home of George Read, signer of the Declaration on Independence and the Constitution.
Unlike many historic communities, New Castle is a residential town where people live and work. Each house reflects the individuality of its past and present owners. Because New Castle has been named a National Landmark Historic Area, all renovations and restorations are carefully supervised.
This small, picturesque City allows vacationers, as well as business travelers, a refreshing respite from the pressures of daily life. Whether you are enjoying the beaches, the Brandywine Valley, or other treasures of Delaware, be sure to include New Castle in your itinerary.
A timeline of New Castle City History, compiled by the New Castle Historical Society:
1651 – Fort Casimir established at today’s New Castle by the Dutch under Gov. Peter Stuyvesant.
1682 – William Penn landed in New Castle to take control of the colony of Pennsylvania.
1704 – Penn granted Lower Three Counties (today’s Delaware) independent status, with New Castle as their capital.
1764 – First Board of Trustees of New Castle Common named to manage common land for residents.
1776 – New Castle became the state capital, but the state moved its governmental seat to Dover the following year.
1824 – New Castle was devastated by the Great Fire on Water Street, now known as The Strand.
1831 – New Castle and Frenchtown Railroad opened. It was the first railroad in Delaware and one of the first in the nation.
1875 – New Castle incorporated as a city under an act of the state legislature.
1881 – New Castle County seat moved from New Castle to Wilmington.
1897 – Electric trolley service to Wilmington added.
1925 – New Castle-Pennsville, N.J., ferry service was inaugurated. It ended in 1951.
1934 – New Castle Historical Society established for purpose of opening the 1738 Amstel House as the first historic-house museum in town.
1949 – The town’s central district was surveyed and mapped by Historic New Castle Inc. in a preservation initiative.
2001 – The city celebrated the 350th anniversary of its founding.

"If time is that sea, we are pushing the lead and lost in the memory."
Chen Wen-Chi currently the Chairman of the department of Communication Design at Shih Chien University. "Authenticity Temporal Memory" is a new series of photographic installation works that follows up on Chen Wen Chi’s last two solo exhibitions, "the thing itself" in the Taipei Fine Art Museum and "the thing itself 2 Agape" in Fotoaura institute of photography. The exhibition in VT Artsalon will feature 100 installation works suspended out from the surface of the walls. The specimen boxes are the vessel for images and diary entries, recreating the actual state of time and space for the memory. This series is a continuation of the artist’s previous works; discuss the relationship between time, space and human existence.
In “Authenticity Temporal Memory” the artist juxtapose letterpress type with black and white image, using expressive words to presenting the feelings and travel observation of the five cities; in the installation time is not recognized, space and real memory that did not exist, works reflect metacognition, how it become something artificially created, the distressed effect of the image provide a sense of confusion in time, it has never cross the boundaries between past and future not does it exist in the present. Moveable lead types carve out the shape and the feel of ink, hitting and printing out one character at a time onto on acid-free card, verses of character depressed in ink are the remains of movable type. The texts reproduced on paper are the artistic marks and the aesthetics of “non-fast”
“Authenticity Temporal Memory” explores the ephemeral and impermanence. "False" is manmade, nothing is real in anything manmade; the truth in the past may become a fallacy today, the fallacy of today may be the truth of tomorrow. Toward reality people already seem to respond with a narcissus voice echoing in the Valley; “Authenticity Temporal Memory” is true to image as the credibility of memory, seemingly objective shooting after writing, once again become lost in the cracks of time and space. This series follows on the concept of the "Flesh is the prison of the soul" series, 100 installation works is suspended in mid-air, allowing a appropriate distance for seeing and reading, the heavy wooden box we see, will in the end be sealed into a mirror finished metal box. Photographic diary with slices of Kyoto, Tokyo, Shanghai, Bangkok, Taipei, confused the viewer of today's digital-oriented world, to what time and period we are looking. Chen Wen-Chi through the act of diary writing, express his feelings and concern with history, each text contain their rational and emotional landscape. If viewers can put aside time constraints, read every diary in space-time, conceptual, logical, speculative point of view, text, language of the work will flow in the current time.
Quiet times are real feelings, everything is condensed with time, time and memory entangles. Time and space are not flat images, they can be produced and reproduce, photography is precisely replicated time and space footage, text outline of past experience, large scale duplication quality of lead type, in " Authenticity Temporal Memory" has become specimen like engraved onto the screen. But truth is, even if we think that all is frozen, time has never stopped, all records are unrelated to reality, just a creation of a real past. Artists repeated assess the relations between images and space-time, providing the viewer a composition of images and words under the rule of a conceptual dimension.

The items are designed, cut out and sewn using different tissues. Alessandro draws the subjects, chooses the materials and paste everything together with his skilful touch. HIBU collection is 'eco' because each piece comes from remnants of famous brands or artigianal sartories. The clothes were once thought to be used by the famous Milan fashion catwalks and then recovered by Acerra, realizing today another art-form with an healthy message inherited. The items are paintings to be worn, they are an expression of luxury, they are at the same time real art work and consumerist objects. In fact you can wear, stain and clean them or simply hang them up to the wall like pictures, as the author himself advises. Each t-shirt is different from the others. Each one carries a certificate of authenticity which assure its uniqueness: there have a little tag, the signature of Alessandro Acerra and the serial number, expressing the good quality and the luxury of each article in order to satisfy even the most exacting collectors. Alessandro Acerra personally takes care of all the details, from the concept of his masterpiece to the despatch of the product.
Even the package is excentric as you will receive the 'eco' t-shirts wrapped into “take-away pizza's boxes”. A choice which is not random, but it comes from the artist need of underlining his connection with both Italy and his substainable activity.
The ecological creations of Acerra are then a symbol of those elements which still nowadays represents Italy world-wide as quality and professionality. It derives from the choice of comes from a recycling as well.

Lauren Michaels’ authenticity is reminiscent of Margo Price, Nikki Lane and Miranda Lambert and marries her rebellious vocals with a more traditional, toe-tapping country western melody. She regularly provides her talents as a back-up singer at Macy Sound Studios and has been a backup singer in the house band for Denver-produced The Joey Canyon Show where she was able to perform with many of her longtime idols, including Janie Fricke, Paulette Carlson and Pam Tillis, to name a few.
After four years with her previous band. Michaels has built her vocal range and chops and now fronts Colorado Country Western outfit Lauren Michaels Band. The collaboration features a remarkable musicianship between lead vocalist, Craig, Fisher, Michael Howard and Joey McGuinness, a veteran of some of Colorado’s Country Music Hall of Fame.

The ecological creations of Acerra are then a symbol of those elements which still nowadays represents Italy world-wide as quality and professionality. It derives from the choice of comes from a recycling as well.

D23 Snow White LE Doll with front cover and rear covers off. The doll is still attached to the backing, which is free standing. The Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) is removed from underneath the backing, and placed in front of the doll.
Here are detailed photos of my D23 Exclusive Snow White Limited Edition Doll. She is 17 inches tall, comes in an ornately decorated double cardboard box, with a large plastic viewing window in the front, and smaller ones on the left and right sides and the top. My doll is #106 of 1023. I got her first hand from the Disney Store at the 2017 D23 Expo, on her release day, Saturday July 15, 2017. She costs $119.95 plus tax, the usual price for Disney Store LE 17'' inch dolls of animated movie characters. She is the third release by Disney of a Snow White LE 17 inch doll.
I will make a full review of this doll when I debox her. But for now, here are some observations. As with the first two LE Snow White dolls, she has a variation of her iconic Princess blue, yellow and red dress. She has a blue bodice with golden embroidery, puffy red sleeves with blue bands over them, and full length blue satin sleeves below that. Around her neck is a wide white satin collar with another golden lace collar over that. She has a red satin ribbon and bow in her hair, with the bow moved off center towards her right side. Her skirt is golden yellow satin, with embroidery and gemstone embellishment. Her shoes are glittery golden pumps with bow decorations, matching the color of her dress. She has a deep red velvet cape with red satin lining. She has petticoat with golden lace trim. Some of these details are very similar to those of the D23 Golden Designer Fairytale Snow White 12 inch doll from 2013.
Her face shares the same mold as the previous two LE Snow White 17 inch dolls. But two details make her face quite different from those two. One is that she has painted teeth, even though the face mold has a closed mouth. The other is that she has a 'normal' skin color, both in face and her body, that is close to that of the DS singing or classic Snow White dolls. The other LE Snow White dolls have very pale complexions, paler than any other LE dolls besides the Elsa dolls. That paleness fits in with her name and description as having skin as white as snow, and made the 2009 DS and 2015 Shanghai Snow White LE dolls unique among other Snow White dolls.

Eco moda d’autore Alessandro Acerra

AUTHORIAL ECOLOGICAL FASHION
Alessandro Acerra commenced a new concept of fashion, through the development of personal interpretation of the definition of recycling and authenticity.
The distinctive features of his fashion line are the fine details, the originality
of the design and the quality of the recycled materials. Each t-shirts is made with extreme care and realized in an exclusive way with the artist personal final finishing made by needle.
