Before Europeans settled here, the Kiewa Valley was an annual meeting place for six Aboriginal tribes where they gathered to perform rituals and sort out their grievances. They also enjoyed a good feed of Bogong moths that prefer to breed here in the summer months, it's cool this morning at 6°C (42°F).
Kiewa means sweet water.

Achillea Millefolium is native to Eurasia. Also known as Bad Man's Plaything, Devil's Nettle, Nosebleed and Old Man's Pepper.
Originally brought from Europe to be planted in herb gardens, it has reputation for healing wounds among other medicinal uses. People love to plant them in English cottage-style gardens, from which it has escaped.
It is regarded by some to be the most concerning environmental weed in the Australian Alps.
