BUSAN, Republic of Korea (July 21, 2010) – Tug boats move USS George Washington (CVN 73) towards its pier in Busan, Republic of Korea (ROK). The US Navy maintains a robust forward presence in the Asia-Pacific region and George Washington’s visit is an example of the strong alliance the U.S. maintains with the ROK. This marks the first port visit for George Washington during its 2010 Western Pacific summer patrol and the second visit to Busan by the ship since October of 2008. OIF (2007 – 2008)

U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to Bravo Company, 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade operate the remote-controlled Dragon Runner 10 robot in Grafenwoehr Training Area during Saber Junction 2019.

 

The Dragon Runner 10 is a lightweight tool that paratroopers can easily store in their rucksack. Impact-rated, it can be used for a variety of purposes, from area surveillance to IED interrogation.

 

Saber Junction 2019 (SJ19) is an exercise involving nearly 5,400 participants from 16 ally and partner nations at the U.S. Army’s Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels Training Areas, Sept. 3 to Sept. 30, 2019. SJ19 is designed to assess the readiness of the U.S. Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade to execute land operations in a joint, combined environment and to promote interoperability with participating allies and partner nations.
