The first recorded sound in Hinduism is “OM, the primary, primordial, original sound of Cosmos, symbol of the Universe. It is the original vibration of the universe and a widely accepted symbol of Hindu tradition. From this first vibration, all other vibrations were able to manifest.

The technology of immortalizing oral knowledge through ancient Archival audio recording methodology dates back two millennia ago, where the Vedic civilization followed the Ancient Hindu knowledge transmission system based on oral composition, compilation and transmission of Vedic scriptural knowledge. The oral recitation was the initial medium of transference of knowledge and was employed by all gurukuls and universities and comprised a variety of methods: introspection, teaching, narration, memorization, discussion, practical study, and seminars. Ancient Hindu education institutes followed the methodology for the quantum memory activation through recalling any text verbatim after a single hearing (called Ēkasantāgrahi in the vedic age). Sacred Hindu Scriptures including the Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda Atharvaveda, Samhitas, Brahmanas, Aranyakas, Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita are given the title of Shruti, meaning that which is heard. These sacred scriptures are direct cosmic revelations heard by the divine sages, later the knowledge was imparted through Vedic Oral methodologies. Thus preserving the sacred knowledge of the Scriptures by recording history.

Hindu enlightened civilization was first to invent Harikatha (The art of storytelling and enacting in the ancient civilizations) narrating the great epic of Hinduism through a composition of narration, poetry, music, drama, dance, and philosophy to preserve the ancient culture, tradition and heritage for the future genertations. Hindu Traditional dances including Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi and other narrative performance were also used as a technique to capture the historical, rich audiovisual heritage using the science of the Hindu sign language - Mudras. The gestural vocabulary of Mudrās are expressed in traditional Hindu dances that symbolize, express and narrate the great historical happenings recorded in the Hindu Purana as means of keeping the history alive. The idea of harikatha and traditional dances introduced by the Hindu Enlightened Civilization has remained as the bedrock for the birth of the audiovisual technology in today’s world.

Hinduism has a lot more to offer to the world and humanity in every field including medicine, education, social welfare, cosmetics, cosmology, psychology, business, economics, arts, temple architecture, administration, democracy and conscious living. The glorious past of Hinduism is important for Hindus today to understand their identity and their roots. Capturing the glory of Hinduism is of utmost need to inspire and enrich the future generations to preserve and protect the legacy of the Hindu heritage
