Yoshida Castle . Yoshida [ formely Imabashi ] Castle was built by Makino Kohaku in 1505 .Ikeda Terumasa , one of the feudal lords ,was transferred to this castle in 1590 . He began to built a splendid castle worthy of his high income [ 152,000 koku ].But Ikeda was transferred to another castle about ten years later ,leaving this castle uncompleted. Afterwards , this area enjoyed a long peaceful period and a castle became unnecessary . That is why Yoshida Castle remains uncompleted .Nowadays , there are mossy stone walls and one remaining turret [ storehouse ] where the castle stood .These ruins are a Wonderful window to the past .

A staircase that leads to the vast emptiness of what was and shall likely never be again...
Yoshida Castle, originally called Imahashi Castle, was built by Makino Kohaku in 1505. Ikeda Terumasa, one of Hideyoshi’s trusted vassals, was given the castle and the surrounding land in fief, in 1590. Ikeda, a great castle builder of the late Sengoku warring states period, started to renovate Imahashi Castle on a grand scale, and renamed it Yoshida Castle. However, nearly ten years into his stay in Mikawa province and before he could finish his new castle, Ikeda was transferred to another fief. The battle of Sekigahara in 1600 ended Japan’s bloody civil wars and brought peace to the land. Yoshida Castle lost some of its strategic importance and work on a central keep was never resumed. It was a castle with just four turrets (yagura). During the Edo period (1603 - 1868), Yoshida became the 34th post town on the Tōkaidō road, and the castle was held by nine different feudal clans. Early on in the Meiji period, the turrets were dismantled, but one of them was rebuilt in 1954.

Saori Yoshida is a 13-time world champion and 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist of Woman's Freestyle Wrestling.
Unfortunately, she was defeated in the final round in the Rio Olympics 2016, but I would like to dedicate the "gold medal" to her.
Saorin, you don't need to apologize to us.
You're the legend!
