About the artist
Tom Yendell was born in 1962 without arms and hands - caused by Thalidomide taken during his mother's pregnancy. He studied at Hastings College of Art and Design and obtained a BA Honours degree in Expressive Arts from Brighton Polytechnic in 1985. In 1986, Tom was accepted as a student artist with the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists and his works have been shown throughout the world including exhibitions in Sydney, Madrid, Shanghai, Mexico City, Copenhagen, Reykjavik, Helsinki, Lisbon. Tom has always been an active member of the disabled community and has always lived his life fully - his motto is 'In life try everything.' Tom's biography 'Here for a purpose' was published in 2012. In 2013, Tom was elected onto the International Managing Board of the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists.

About the design
The role of London as a major tourist destination, along with the idea that a journey continues beyond the map, is the inspiration for this design, along with the comparative similarity between the angular designs of Thomas Heatherwick's Routemaster and Harry Beck's underground map. This results in a colourful mashup of line, angle and direction.
About the artist
Oliver Dean is an illustrator, author and artist from Essex. He works across a wide spectrum of art projects including community groups, commercial and private commissions.

About the artist
Launched in 2006 by London-based designers, Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire, Mini Moderns is an interiors brand specialising in applied pattern across a range of products including wallpapers, fabrics, cushions, rugs and ceramics. Their initial collection was snapped up by Heal's and the brand continues to go from strength to strength, selling online and via selected stockists around the world.
Design influences range from mid-century British textiles to vintage toys, from literature to childhood memories. Travel also influences their work - and much of their inspiration comes from holidays and field trips, both at home and abroad.
Mini Moderns also works on a number of commissions, including recent collaborations with the Courtauld Gallery, Southbank Centre and the London Transport Museum Shop. The bus design was painted by Jane Headford.

About the design
A contemporary take on the Dazzle camouflage developed during the First World War and used on allied ships, known as dazzle ships. These vessels were not camouflaged to become invisible but to confuse, with sharp broken lines of contrast and colour.
About the artist
Sophie Green is an artist and illustrator working from her studio-gallery in Liverpool city centre. Her work is predominately light, bright and characterful with a big spoonful of humour. Sophie was recently named 'one to watch' as part of the Independent on Sunday's 2013 Pink List.

About the design
Inspired by the luscious beauty of British herbaceous borders, this design features plants that have been used in formal garden planting since the Victorian era. Chosen for their form and colour, Peonie, Phlox, Schizostyliss and Coreopsis are the plants used to adorn each side of the bus. It draws inspiration from traditional botanical illustrations with the design celebrating some of the wonderful aspects to be found in formal British gardening.
About the artist
During the 10 years since she graduated with a fine art degree, Sarah Jane Richards has enjoyed a wide and varied output as an artist. This includes public art and public consultation projects, public, corporate and private painting commissions, art and studio management and building design and regeneration projects. She has designed and facilitated art workshops for community groups and for schools, within the mental health sector, in hospitals and for events and festivals.

About the design
The inspiration for this design is transparency. The air we breathe is transparent but environmental pollution cannot be invisible to us. A solution for air pollution is an eco-friendly bus. The bus not only helps us to communicate but it is also invisible to the environment. A mosaic made of broken mirrors attached to the bus sculpture gives us an unbelievable feel of invisibility resulting in a unique visual effect. The bus reflects light and looks different from each point of view.
About the artist
Pawel Srokowski is an owner and designer at Srokowski Design Studio. He is a graduate of the University of Technology - Faculty of Architecture and Urban Design. He has studied art, painting, sculpture and graphic design from an early age and is passionate about architecture and photography. Pawel's life motto - make it simple and always improve - connected with his experience and hard work resulting in unique designs.

About the design
Clouds have always fascinated - the way they capture our imagination and daydreams, making our brains see patterns that aren't necessarily there (pareidolia). A certain type of cloud had bus as part of its name so it is perfect to cover one in realistic representations of the cumulonimbus clouds.
About the artist
Loz Atkinson is an award-winning, internationally exhibited and widely collected artist, living and working in Leicester. Her concept-driven work has been depicted in paint, sculpture and digital media. Open to any subject, the exploration of ideas is important to her and she adapts her skills in many processes to convey them. Provocative yet hopeful, her visions adopt themes of mortality, emotion, truth, time, movement and environment. Loz plays with perceptions of what is seen and not seen, using bold shape, line, form, colour and symbolism - enjoying an element of harmonious discord when creating work. Giving a mystical quality, which expresses the paradox within concepts and circumstance, showing beauty in unusual places. Loz has a unique eye for detail, light and colour, using layering techniques within her digital and painted works giving visual, as well as evocative depth.

Crispin Finn is London-based duo Anna Fidalgo and Roger Kelly. They have worked together since 2008 and make illustration, design, screen prints, stationery and homewares. All of their personal work appears exclusively in the colours red, white and blue.

Time Travel refers to the dynamic nature of the London bus network. As a moving object in space and time, you can never catch the same bus twice. The Time Travel bus design aims to represent this by physically changing its appearance over time. During the day, it is a typically red London bus, made up of thermochromic fragments of the city. During the night, the bus becomes darker and the intricate connections between these fragments glow in the dark, revealing the bus infrastructure system. It becomes evident that the very infrastructure that can sometimes be seen to separate a city, is in fact that which is holding it together.
