On a humid overcast day at Goulburn, on the Northern end of the Southern Highlands in New South Wales, Pacific National's NR20/ NR97 sit at the head of 3PW4, Perth To Port Kembla Steel train as the up Canberra to Sydney Explorer service passes by on the up running via the down main having come off the Canberra Branch at Joppa Junction and has run wrong road from Joppa to Goulburn and returning to the up main at the country end of the up platform. This move came about as 3PW4 was divided into 2 separate trains at Goulburn for the run down the Illawarra mountain to Port Kembla as the Illawarra line was shut for trackwork. NR47 is at the head of the 2nd train 2920 sitting at the up home signal behind PW4.

SN12 AEK is an Alexander Dennis E40D Enviro 400 H45/28F new to First Devon and Cornwall in March 2012. All nine of these were transferred to First Bristol at Hengrove around the end of 2016 and painted with orange fronts on urban livery for service 50. With the timetable changes at the beginning of September 2017 33666 and 33667 were transferred to Weston-super-Mare , and repainted in Excel livery for North Somerset X services.

Service X5 from Weston-super-Mare to Cribbs Causeway was handed over to Stagecoach West from 1st September 2019 and 33666/7 were transferred from Weston to Wells.

33667 is now in Mendip Xplorer livery and is working on Wells service 172 in Paulton.

Having taken over Queens Road depot, Go North West has taken over a large sum of Volvo B9TLs and B7RLEs, as well as a small number of E400s, Streetlites and Volvo B5LHs. 37440 appears to sport a strange section of First Express / Mendip Xplorer livery above the upper windows, though never carried that livery from research !

On a 174 to Wells in Orchard Way, Peasedown. The road through Peasedown village has been closed at Ashgrove for some weeks so no First buses are going through the village at all but all divert via Orchard Way; there has been no service to Bath from this part of Peasedown since Arleen ended the 175.

Quick as a flash, 2-car Xplorer NP44 crosses Narrabri Creek having just departed Narrabri station - destined to amalgamate with an additional 3 Xplorer cars at Werris Creek.

Six days after the Xplorer entered service on the Tamworth service, the XPT was called back due to teething problems with the new railcars. That day's replacement service was seen roaring towards Hanbury Junction on 11 Oct 1993.

Uralla Railway Station. It was built before the railway opened on 2nd August 1882. It is in close to original condition and is still an operational station with the Xplorer to and from Armidale stopping here daily.

EA2508 and V44 are seen preparing to form services at Central. The Xplorer on the left is bound for Canberra and the V Set on the right will head to the Blue Mountains.

While this may be a common scene today, new intercity and regional fleets are expected to enter service in the coming years. Testing of the new intercity trains, which are expected to replace the V Sets, has commenced. An order has been placed for new regional trains which are set to replace the Xplorers.

Volvo B9TL / Wright Gemini H45/29F new to First Bristol in October 2008. 37605/6/8-10 have been used on the Long Ashton Park and Ride in a red livery since 2012. When they were replaced by Scanias on Metrobus m2 on 3rd September 2018 it was thought that they would all be repainted in Mendip Xplorer livery for use at Wells. 37605/6/10 have gone to Wells , but 37608/9 have remained at Hengrove and have received Unibus livery the same as the 2017 Alexander Dennis E400mmc 33491-9 bought for the U1 last year. A new hourly service U2 from Queens Road , Bristol to Langford Veterinary School began on 24 September 2018. The two newest Geminis 37771/2 also received Mendip Xplorer livery in September 2018 and the 5 Geminis went to Wells in exchange for 5 Volvo B7RLE single deckers 69439-42/8 which went to Bristol. 37610 is leaving from Paulton on the 13.53 departure on service 172 to Bath. Deckers still seem to be unusual on 172 and the next three departures were all 59regd single deckers. The Volvo B9s are often found on the 376 instead of Streetdecks.

37610 was reported to have failed before the end of the day whilst working the 172.
