ONE OF A KIND
My son asked me what I would paint the next time?
I said that there will be a winter landscape.
You do not need snow to it?
At night it snowed, and the ground was white,
the snow remained until I was finished with the painting.
since it was raining and the grass was green again :)

Der kälteste Tag in diesem Jahr! Bei böhigem Wind und gefühlten - 35° C reichen ein oder zwei Minuten ohne Handschuhe für schmerzende Finger! Ich hoffe die Schmerzen haben sich gelohnt! :)
I was at Crater Lake NP a year ago. The place looks very beautiful in winter. I wanted so much to see the sunset but it started snowing so I had to leave. I am dreaming of coming there again in winter. Probably when it gets a little warmer.

We have had the snow squalls and flash freezes this season so far. Tonight we have milder temps and a rainfall warning. Right now we have thunder and lightening. How quickly nature can transform a landscape!
Day characterized by a great variability. First the sun, then the freezing wind and a light sleet, and then the sun again.

Last week, there was another show of frost which was just amazing to see. With it being sunny outside, I couldn't help but take a short drive out of town and take a few shots before the frost was blown off the trees.
Thank you for viewing and for leaving me a comment! Have a wonderful day and weekend!

A cool place I found and can only visit during the winter since this creek is surrounded by mires and you can not walk there except for in the winter when the ground is frozen.
Thank you for visiting!

In my opinion, few things equal the beauty of fresh fallen snow on fur trees. This picture was taken when we went snowshoeing the day after we had had a big snow fall last January,
Hope you like it.
À mon avis, peu de choses égalent la beauté d'un neige fraîchement tombée sur des sapins. Cette photo a été prise lors d'une sortie en raquettes le lendemain d'une tempête de neige, en janvier dernier.
This year, we don't have any snow yet!

boathouse and pier at the largest lake in the park, once also belonging to the abbey, but all 's of the community already long time, just open to the public
it was especially idyllic now in the snow... and romantic: young couple on the deck in the background watching the birds on the snow in the middle of the lake
much better in reality... just so much brighter and vibrant!
The trees in our boreal forest are so heavy with hoar frost, it is a wonder they are still standing upright. The weaker willows are bending under the weight of the frost, some touching the ground. This is a photo of the trail that leads from our cabin into the wilderness. It is also the trail our pesky moose likes to traverse.

It's been several years since I was able to take advantage of a snow covered city for doing photography. The last few Winters have given us milder temperatures and've been almost completely snowless. This year we've been having a lot so I've made a commitment to get as many Winter shots in as I can as there just aren't that many in my portfolio.
We had a heavy snowfall and when I got up and when I saw that it was still happening, I jumped to it, got dressed quickly and dashed out the door, iPhone at the ready.
It's a wholly different beast shooting with a lot of snow around. The camera reads it as very bright and compensates for the tremendous amount of reflective "bounce" that's saturating the air with light. With muted, cloudy skies this tends to bleach out all the colour from the world and leave only basic earth tones and varying blacks and whites.
So in processing this I decided to keep that almost monochrome feeling but emphasizing how much this red brick house stands out on a muted, grayed-out, snowy day. I eliminated all the other colour except for red and added a hint of "ancient text" texturing for a softer touch.
