Portrait de rue (Ganesh, Paris, août 2025)

Celebrations of Ganesh, the elephant-headed Indian god, took place in the 18th arrondissement of Paris on August 31, 2025. They began at the Sri Manicka Vinayakar Alayam temple at 17, rue Pajol. Then, a procession left the temple at 10:30 a.m. and circulated through the Marx Dormoy district until 3 p.m. Around the various floats, dancers and musicians distributed blessed offerings and sweets and broke coconuts along the route, a symbol of offerings to Ganesh. The crowd was very dense throughout the route, a crowd within which this photo of a young boy was taken. Taking photos is very well received by Indians who willingly pose for the camera.

Mum and I had a wonderful week in Scotland back in May... I'm only just getting through my photos from our trip and I've no idea whereabouts this was taken, somewhere near the Trossachs National Park I think :)

Hopefully over the weekend I'll find some more photos and have a nice variety for you next week.

Thank you again for the wonderful welcome back to Flickr :) I had forgotten what a fantastic groups of friends I had here :) :) :)

Have a great Friday and weekend and I'll catch up with you all soon.

Thank you for all the views comments and faves :)

Dockside....

Out for an early morning hike in early October to get some fall colour photos... It was the perfect time to get out and take fall shots, Karen and I Started our hike at the south end of the park, the trees are stately and tall, it starts with a short boardwalk to get past the area that floods in the spring. then turns into a winding foot path that leads you deep into the expanse of the woods and nature trail hidden within its leafy canopy.

This shot taken while walking past the lake. The sun had just dipped behind some large clouds; making everything suddenly look diffused and dull.

The dock swayed gently up and down on its piers dancing upon the tiny ripples stirred by the wind.

Joséphine Barker - La fête de Paris (Place du Panthéon, Paris, septembre 2025)

This photo was taken during the Paris 2025 parade, at the Place du Panthéon, as the procession formed. The procession incorporates personalities or events that have contributed to the history of the city of Paris. The figure of Joséphine Baker was a real success with the spectators, considering the amount of applause that accompanied her parade.

I am trying to get out as much as possible to get photos as I am going for my cataract surgery on Thursday.

It's a sunshine day out there today, crisp but the sun is shining and no snow YAY!! The ice and snow is all but gone on the creek from the other day.

I am a rule breaker when it comes to photography at times (the creative photography student in me I guess) and so shooting into the sun and getting flare to some is a no no but to me I like it. Shot on my trusty old 7D that I have to slap every once in awhile to get it to work (thanks you tube for the fix as Canon said it was too old to repair) with the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 at 11 mm and the aperture set to f22 to get the sunburst. I have to do a local adjustment in ON1 Photo Raw 2022 (I use it and both Lightroom as the need arises) other than that no edits. Have a super awesome day out there!

I may not always have time to thank you all for your visits and comments but rest assured, that I do read them and am very appreciative that you took the time to pop by and see what I see here "North of 7" in Rural Eastern Ontario (North Frontenac Township) or, where ever else I might be with my camera now that I am retired and loving it.

Souvenir de vacances (Moulin Mattei, Cap Corse, août 2025)

The Mattei windmill is one of 13 windmills in Cap Corse that were operational at the end of the 18th century. It was purchased in 1930 by an entrepreneur, François Mattei, who used it as an advertising venue for the aperitif drink created in 1872 by his father-in-law, Louis-Napoléon Mattei. Today, it serves as an exhibition space during the summer months.

This photo was taken at Angkor, Cambodia with a Olympus Pen PL.5. It's incredible to see these historic buildings themselves. To date, more than 1000 temples and sanctuaries were discovered already different sizes. The lens which Olympus M. 9-18mm wide angle .

I have a tour of Europe coming up this summer and thinking about taking my NEW Samyang 14mm f2.8 lens with me. Today I walked around and took some of the first photos with it. I gotta get used to manual focus! Landscape photos at infinity focus will be fine but I want to get some up-close shots also.

Spent part of the day wandering around Southwestern Wayne and Monroe Counties today.

Reflections Of Childhood...

In May last year we ventured we took a trip downtown Toronto, while there i noticed this little girl gazing at her reflection in a street side mirror; she was transfixed by it and stood there for several minutes... then suddenly pointed at the mirrored reflection of the Dog Fountain in the distance and soon there was something else to attract her innocent inquisitiveness.

Winter Is Coming..

IN March of 2019 a heavy wet snow fell covering everything with a thick layer of fresh fluffy white snow. We got up early and headed to the park where we found ourselves in a scene from the movie Narnia; snow was falling from the branches above every time the wind blew. at times it was as if it was still snowing... with so much snow falling from the heavy laden branches overhead.

We worked our way through the park and found ourselves walking across the frozen river; we could hear the crack and creak of the ice straining under our feet, we know that the water at this point is only a few inches deep this time of year so no worries about falling through the ice.

The Bluebells are out in abundance again, and my favourite time of the year begins. I have had a very long, quiet winter with very little photography, so it is nice to be back out as everything brightens up again! A spring morning out shooting really starts the day right.

1962 Convertible Corvette at The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky.

Summer is a wonderful time of year, the trees and hedgerows are full of colour and life, the weather is good (ish) and there is plenty of time to get out for a sunset shoot after work. I had been meaning to revisit this viewpoint of Silbury Hill for a while, and I picked a pretty good evening for it as the sunset was stunning.
