仰臥腿上舉(Lying leg raises)重點鍛煉部位：下腹部
開始：平躺在凳上，將下背緊貼凳面，兩腿彎曲併攏放鬆。
動作過程：身體和下背部貼緊凳面，把腿向上抬起至大腿與身體呈垂直，稍停，慢慢放下。重覆動作。
訓練重點:將背部緊貼凳面，能使下腹肌群能得到較強的收縮。如果下背彎屈或離開凳面，會影響下腹肌群的收縮效果。
為了加強訓練強度，也可以仰臥在上斜板(頭上腳下)上來練。

Since I took this in portrait mode on my phone, I checked out the high-key option and liked the effect.
Admittedly, it detracts a little form the repetition, but I think it still qualifies.

When renowned cellist Michail Gelfandbein and his wife, pianist Irina Sharogradsky, play Beethoven's "Sonata No. 4," they have a slight advantage -- they have had four decades to get it just right.
"We've played it many times, our whole life -- it's one of our favorites," Gelfandbein said.
The Russian-born couple, who have played chamber music together internationally for more than 40 years, will be putting their experience to good use on Sunday, when they perform Beethoven's sonata at the El Camino Youth Symphony's annual benefit recital, to be held at the Mountain View Center for Performing Arts.
Gelfandbein serves as conductor and cello instructor for the youth symphony, which was created in 1963 to offer orchestral experience and musical training to aspiring young musicians. Students from as far away as Santa Cruz and as young as 6 years old have auditioned for the Palo Alto group.
Gelfandbein's experience as a world-class musician is one of the symphony's major draws. He studied at the Leningrad Conservatory of Music under famed conductor and cellist Mstilav Rostropovich, followed by postgraduate studies in conducting.
Sharogradsky also studied at the Leningrad Conservatory, earning her doctorate degree. After her studies, she eventually joined the faculty, teaching for 25 years at the school's Rimsky-Korsakov Music College.
The two met while she was accompanying some of Rostropovich's cello students on the piano.
"We started to play together -- and after that we married," Gelfandbein said with a smile.

I had intended to take a photo of my dogs, but saw this one on the way to work, and quickly took the snap on my i-Phone. I cropped the photo using the Photoshop application on my phone, along with some minor adjustment (less shadows, more contrast).

The Skogafoss arrives in Portland Harbor carrying containers for Eimskip Shipping Co out of Iceland. Eimskip has made Portland the US HQ for its container operation. Skogafoss replaced a smaller ship recently due to the increase in shipping volume. The terminal itself has tripled in size in just a few short years.
I'm pretty much addicted to them. I get it every week, I just need to know what happens next in each story! I read manga so much.

Active Assignment Weekly: Minimal House
This is light shining in front of my doggy door. I tried to concentrate on something other than wood and to be as minimal as possible.
I cleaned up the noise on the floor and did black and white. I also boosted contrast. I took the photo in the dark to get the most contrast as possible.
Active Assignment Weekly: Long exposure. I confess, I intended to do some long exposure at the Latin American street festival yesterday, but I plain forgot.
Here is a tram (streetcar) going past our building. Taken from our balcony on the 36th floor with the camera way over the railing.
What it took: Saturation maxed, contrast maxed, Flickr filter Lorno. Cropped a few mm to get rid of a shadow of a car in the top right corner.
It's very sunny and bright right now, well, it has been for the last few weeks. It's difficult to do long exposures during the day with a max of f/8. I think this came out ok, though, in the end.

While I was in San Francisco we stopped into an old Catholic church. Although Catholic churches give me the heebie jeebies they often have beautiful architecture. This one in particular had these statues everywhere and they were soooo perfectly lit! I couldn't decide which one to submit but I think this one fit the quote so well.
