this is actually an out take from the food week we did over on how we say hello. I thought the overloaded trolley was more interesting in the end, but this is perfect for my 365!

Active Assignment Weekly: "Dramatic Lighting"

Since this group is all about improvement, I'm submitting this as an improvement over the other one. I think I set this one up a lot better, because I understood the light more.

And like my fury fellow here, I just love attention and comments :>)

Active Assignment Weekly: Fancy Pants

So, your assignment this week is to take a picture of pants. Jeans, slacks, cargo's, corduroy, camo, or underpants...I don't care, just take a picture of pants. As long as the pants are the focus, your picture will work.

Restriction: Keep away from whole body shots, and really make the pants the focus.

Dare: Take a picture of someone else's pants? I can't really think of anything else

WIT

I have so many jeans, and I had this idea in my head of lining them all up. My best friend has a huge yard. with some small hills. I got on a step ladder and shot.

Taken for Active Assignment Weekly: Balloons

I know regular balloons are fun enough, but I thought for variety I'd try something a bit weirder using a little textured balloon/stress ball I picked up at my last conference.

WIT: My macro lens can just barely focus on something held at arm's length, and I needed to squeeze the ball to make it look more obviously balloon like. So the setup is me, standing by the window, ball held in a squishy death grip, angled carefully so I get the nice dark background against the corner behind the window, and I'm stretching and stretching until I manage to get the auto-focus to work. I imagine it looked pretty ridiculous.

Active Assignment Weekly: Back to School

I've been thinking about this idea for a couple of days, took the photo, then sat on it a bit (the idea, not the photo).

I just totally imagined a teenage girl doing this, so I staged it at my own desk, then shot on tripod under lamp light.

Cropped, added some pink tint and contrast.

What I learned: I've never done a photo like this.

These were all thrifted. The Butterfly Gold finish my set. I now have a few complete sets I need to take photos of......

Blogged

Well everyone school starts tomorrow for me, so my activity will decrease but that does not mean that I'm not working. Chapters 0, 1, and 2 have all been shot and mostly edited. What you see here is a set in progress for Chapter 3, i'm not sure that I like it so much so any suggestion on how to build the Jedi Temple are welcomed. There is a little hidden sneak peak if you can find it. Also I might be posting more finished photos today, but I can't promise anything.

I like exploring the different colors of the face and being able to section of what makes it three dimensional, so enjoy being able to do this by hand instead of just putting a filter over something. However, I am currently working on how I can expand off of this idea.

Active Assignment Weekly: June 27 - July 4: Body Parts

Your assignment is to photograph body parts. Keep the props, or clothing to a minimum and really focus in on a body part. With that said PLEASE remember the group rules and keep it clean.

Dare: Make it abstract or hard to tell what part of the body you have chosen (please refrain from the cliche arm or leg crack made to look like a butt)

Restriction: No full face or full body shots, and as stated before no naughty areas.

WIT: Halogen reading light lying on the bed.. F/2.8, 1/20 sec. ISO 1600. CS4 curves for high contrast, vibrance reduction, dark blue filter to take out some of the bright orange-ness, noise reduction, gaussian blur, resize. View on black..
