Filling the pill box. Only one of the pills is prescription medicine. Never thought I would use a pill box, but it really is more convenient than opening and closing multiple bottles each night.

Olive had a great week. Mommy did not. The last three weeks she's been the happiest she's ever been. She's been sleeping better, loves socializing, rolling like crazy, pulling her knees under her when she's on her belly and blowing raspberries like no one's business. But in the last three weeks she's gained no weight. The doctor has us supplementing with formula and I'm taking supplements, eating protein and drowning in gatorade. After going 4.5 months without a drop of formula, I was heartbroken to give her a bottle on Tuesday. After turning a corner on reflux, she's begun to spit up buckets again. But.. she's still happy and strong. She could care less what she eats. And if she starts gaining weight, then I guess I don't care either. I imagine parenthood is all about adjusting and letting go, I'm just getting some practice in early.

Goal: Some ideas for the weekly bulletin. We change this quarterly, so this is a potential Fall/Winter idea.

Direction: I'm trying to come up with some different ideas. We also try to keep things seeker sensitive, so we try to stay away from "churchy" concepts.

Audience: The regular Sunday morning crowd. We have all ages attending.

This is a new bulletin idea that we are going with. We will be able to add new announcements weekly with out having to print the whole thing every week in house. There is a perforated edge on the right that we are asking the attendees to fill out. Any thoughts. Had to use red and gold as they are the colors that the pastor's picked to keep everything looking uniform.

Eco/Ökológia

My first try was very strict and restrictive so I thought I'd give a more organic approach a try. I kind of like it. I kept the Bunzo without any filling in order to not disturb the whole pictire of having line added to line ... What do you think?

Handles ... check.

Lock ... hmm?

Found a few more cookbooks and a Dynaware round cake dish.

We survived a whole week without Daddy! Of course, we had a lot of help from your Grammy and Gaigai. Although we definitely missed Daddy, we had such a great week! Grammy broke you of your nap time Rock n' Play habit. Your naps aren't as long now, but it was time for the transition. You're also going to sleep much faster at night, though you still need help from Mom and Dad. If you get up to eat, you roll right back over and go to sleep without much complaint.

Those two pointy teeth are now visible and oh, so cute. You are devouring puffs and love to pick them up and put them in your mouth. Finn comes right behind you to gobble up any that you dropped or left behind. We call him the clean up crew. Mum mums are totally your favorite thing to eat right now. You will scream once your done eating one because you love them so. They are incredibly messy though. We're beginning to feed you more of our food. At the new Whole Foods you tasted some hummus. At brunch your Grammy shared her pancakes with you. You like it all!

You have become so much more interested in being on the floor again. You roll and roll to get around. And you've gotten great at reaching and pivoting for things way out in front of you or behind you.

Taken for Active Assignment Weekly: Trite But True

I spent most of my photo-taking energy shooting photos for the regional science fair. But here's another last minute submission so that my photostream isn't totally empty this week.

What it took: Pennies, the top of a dark shelf, and insufficient dusting of both.

I first tried to do this with a flash that I've borrowed from a friend, but the pennies glow too much and it looked weird no matter where I bounced the flash. Next: the overhead light. Too bright, missed the texture and colours of the differently aged pennies. Opened the curtain. Glowing pennies again. Closed half of the curtain and used a longer exposure... just right? It's still not quite the photo that I had in my head, but it'll do.

Post processing: Cropped so that the eye was more drawn to the 2007 penny that's most in focus. (The original had the penny in the bottom right fully in frame, which was distracting)

Taken for Active Weekly Assignment - Ephemeral: Tie-died soap bubbles.

When I saw "Ephemeral" as a topic, the first thing I thought was "Soap Bubbles!". But soap bubbles are boring - so I tie-died a sink full of bubbles with food coloring.

I took quite a few pictures of them, but this one was my favorite, as the last ones were heading down the drain.

The rest are in the same set in my stream.
