I started with an image of a tree and changed the levels of the image too 41 - 1.32 - 227. I then opened an image of a persons face to by my second image and desaturate the image. Then I dragged and dropped that image of the persons face on top as my second layer. Then I used the brush tool to select the face only to be my selection. I copied the face image as a separate layer, then used the Gaussian tool and got it to be a radius of 2.0 Pixels. Then I duplicated the back layer. With the face on the base layer on the face I changed the Layer Style to colour dodge.
week 18
Bit of a cliché but I do love yellow fields - the best ones I saw were while I was driving, but I did manage to take this shot while out for a walk near my sister's house.

CRACKS - Week 1

Week #31 Texture - Needle in a Hay Stack. While on a bike ride, the rows of hay in the farmer's field on my route caught my attention. I played around with some processing just for fun.
Joy to me is looking back as well as looking forward. I love to borrow my nanas photo albums and flick through the pages. Seeing where I've come from and seeing the family I have made for myself as we grow together through life.
I'm sorry I couldn't choose between them :-)
Sunday was Ben's first soccer game of the fall. He made two saves as goalie and scored a goal on the other side. Very proud! www.CarsonVision.com
Week 15 in a year-long self portrait series of living with loss:
In the journey of grief, to lay in our pain is to lay also within our love. The heart may be broken, it may feel a pain that is unbearable, but it is only because that is where our love resides so deeply. Losing my fiancé has taken me on a journey of learning to find acceptance of my pain… learning to surrender into what is broken. It’s never an easy thing to do. I can always feel the cracks and the breaks beneath me. Learning to accept today does not mean I’ll be able to accept it tomorrow necessarily. It’s a constant exercise to practice in order to find some level of peace.

Had difficulty choosing a shot this week. Been four days on a digital photography workshop and then were out for the day yesterday. So a mixture in the form of a triptych, Purple Loosestrife from the workshop and the Heather from the Keepers Pond yesterday.
I didn't edit this picture much as I liked the original blue I had on the image from shooting.
First, I changed the brightness to -86, then I changed the contrast to 55, this added more depth to the image, after that I changed the levels to 0, 0.96, 225. Thirdly I changed the exposure to -0.55, the offset to -0.0043, and the gamma correction to 0.93. and finally I added a black and white layer and faded it to add even more depth.

Lots of dancing this week, we now know who we’re dancing with in the show, which is slowly creeping closer!!
Its been a busy week with lectures, seeing friends and celebrating birthdays.
I went on several lovely long walks to enjoy the sunshine, and have a play with the film cameras :)
But for the most part I slept.
The majority of week 27 was spent in Scotland for Easter and a certain Junior Hogarth's 0.5 'birthday'!
We also managed to fit in Craig and Lorna's wedding, a walk to Dean Castle country park with Uncle Gav and Aunty Marty, a Christening, a beach visit, a lunch out with friends, a visit to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and lunch out in Glasgow and several visits to and from neighbours and Great-Grandparents. Fantastic weather was icing on the cake - a brilliant week!
First signs of two bottom teeth in Rory's gums as well - will they be making an appearance soon? He's certainly knows how to throw a wee random paddy in to the day now, so you never know!!
Taken at Eastern State Penn this weekend - playing around with long exposures and the people walking in and out of the shots. I really like the "ghost" vibe it gives off. This is a bit darker than I usually care for but this prison has a pretty dark history, so maybe it's fitting afterall.
Anyway, our little band KLM is taking our act out on the road again. Headed to NC tomorrow for some birding, well waterfowling really. Should be some fun times. I'm OK with fun and I'm def. OK with less eventful too.
fiqa la settimana del design! e ancora più fichi i cocktail aggratis
the design week was so ccol, but the many open bars were ever cooler!
When this pit was built, most farmers used this type of truck to haul their crop to the co-op. This truck has around 1 1/2 feet of clearance on both sides. My truck only has 10-12 inches of clearance on both sides at the mirrors.
Mothers, fathers, grandparents, and everyone in-between. I love my family!
