XI Week 08 20-27/2/20

Been a weird month... never really got my camera out as much as I would have wanted to, but I did get a few in... at least enough to get my weekly postings in.

Here's one more from the streets of Melbourne. More soon.

Week#151: Original Photo

Well, it has been another eventful week on all aspects of life. And this weekend will be no different. Shooting a wedding tomorrow with my father in law Somewheretropical and then one on my own in an old west part of Las Vegas late in the morning of Sunday.

I hope to comment on all your photos soon. But if not this weekend, you know why.

Probably my last HDR for a little while. Expect lots of wedding stuff soon. Don't hate me.

Week 7 editing challenge for Kim Klassen's 2B e-class. Original photo by Kim Klassen and used with permission. For an explanation of the editing techniques I used for this version see the post in my Back Roads blog.

If you've been following me for a while you probably know all the views I've already posted from my not so interesting village.

Today I'm showing you our little library. You can just take a book with or without returning it or put something in.

I didn't know what to take for red but I was at Nanny's last night for dinner and she had some red nectarines and a vase of red roses so I thought they would look good together.

This house in Bognor Regis still retains the sign of its former use, a grocers that ceased trading many years ago.

CELEBRATING VACCINE COMPLETION PROCESS

The wonderful annual celebration of everything Holga! And now that I have one of these plastic beauties again I can join in the fun! While i only shot one roll over the course of the week I made sure I went to something adventurous like my hometown's annual downtown Cruise Night. Classic Cars and Rock 'n Roll.

Week 50 (v 9.0) - make sure it's road worthy

One week of my new healthy living regime done.

I almost met my goals this week, but not quite.

Here is what I did:

Day #1 - walk

Day #2 - walk

Day #3 - day of rest

Day #4 - airport hiking hauling a rather large cat

Day #5 - water aerobics

Day #6 - water aerobics

Day #7 - day of error - no time

Aside from this, being back into my old routine, I found it hard to always eat at reasonable times, so I caught myself eating dinner late on 3 of these nights. I'd like to eliminate the late night eating.

And how do I feel after week one? Way more energized.

Blue Angels at SF Fleet Week.

The ruins of Prora on Rügen. Parts of it are transformed in a hotel and flats but this part will probably stay as it is.

Week 47 - when it works

This Weeks fence shot from a little road trip the Pup and I went on.

Saw this as we we're cruising and thought it might work, Kind of happy with the way it turned out.

You can just start to see a hint of fall color coming into the trees, won;t be long now before there all yellow

Pup Say's hittin "L" sure don;t hurt

except for a bit of rain, the past couple weeks have been one of the mildest autumns we've enjoyed. After a few complications with my ruptured bile duct, then a blood infection that was hiding and took a while to find in a lab culture, and a week on IV antibiotics my gallbladder was finally evicted. I was hoping the past many months of ill health were coming to a close. Unfortunately, after a week of testing negative while admitted to hospital, I tested positive for covid on the 7th day. That cancelled my last ERCP to remove the blockages and shunt put in last month. Somewhat on hold with getting all fixed, but hoping to end 2022 much healthier. Through this all Halle Lu has been amazingly careful and attentive with me. Today I went outside for the first time and sat in a lawn chair with my real camera. Had my favourite 70-200mm lens on the Canon which I realized instantly was a mistake. Halle Lu was so excited to have me outside with her again she wouldn't go more than 10" away from me. Had to call my husband outside to lure her away. You can tell by the slight torquing of her front paw she held still for only a 1/2 second then raced back to me. She had a blast! I'm itching to be well enough to hike, play and be active with her again.

Halle Lu trivia: my husband Don needed to use chicken breast and lots of calling to get Halle Lu far enough away from me to take her pic

Photo shoot in the back yard at sunset, with a pregnant Kat in her 38th week. The crazy glow & mist action is being provided care of my backyard sprinker which was misting through the great sunset.

hey I'm back! I know I'm behind..but this one counts for last week altough it's shot today ;) it's something different, I took this after we made the familyphoto :D

Everything is different in this: the edit style, the not-squared format I really got used to right now and guess what-I've a beard! I actually never showed you ^^ oh and on my back: my brother! say hello ;)

Hope that you are not too disappointed that this one isn't as good as the last pictures, but it's really hard to find time for everything right now...(2 more weeks :)) )

Oh and I shot my first wedding on saturday and to be honest...it was AMAZING!! I loved it so much-I want to become a wedding photographer now haha :D

Sorry for the blabla-have a great week!

Just returned home from 2 incredible weeks in Peru. It's going to be a long process going through all of my photos and I will likely be posting them pretty slowly. Here is one I took at the new water fountain park in Lima.

Theme Of The Week - Nighttime Long Exposure

for Collage Play with Crowabout - week 111.

This was a difficult one! I wanted to find something really interesting but a busy week didn’t really have time to hunt for something. This is Richmond lock and weir and the technology is the machinery to make this work. Mostly hidden in this photo but I particularly liked the shadow on the footpath and the striking clouds.

Week 43: Superstition

Step on a crack...

Nothing but imagination

Probably inspired by Kyle Thompson

Before I say anything I want to apologize for being three weeks behind..sickness, lack of time, of motivation, of inspiration, etc. led to the fact that I didn't take any pictures altough I had only to shoot one last picture for this project.

BUT, I AM DONE! It's over and I can't believe it!! One year passed like nothing and I am so thankful for it! I've learned a lot through this project. I learned how to discipline myself (well not all the time ;)..), how I get another perspective on normal things, how to fall, how to stand up again, how to not give up and try over and over again. I learned different editing styles, how to handle my camera (very important :D), how to overcame challenges, and so on..

One of the things I am most thankful about is: YOU!

You guys are simply amazing! You don't know how much everyone of you encouraged me with every single comment, favorite, and everything else!! It feels so good to know, that there are people in this world who are connected through photography and art! I am also so thankful for those who I got to learn a little bit closer through flickr! I even got the chance to shoot with one of them!

Once again: Thank you!!

I also want to thank God for giving me live, strength and hope to carry on every single day!

So, this is it for now…of course I'll keep on shooting, but not regularly. It's the last year of school and it's gonna be very stressful! But once I'll be done, I want to start another project ;)

Have a great week! :)

Challenge for WEEK#209

Minimum detail to tell the story of a warm summer afternoon, relaxing by the river.

From the shoebox again, taken in 2012 in Berlin, Kreuzberg.

I just noticed that the flash had automatically fired. Luckily it could not do much harm given the size of the area covered and the force of the setting sun.

This Blue Mint Beetle only lives on mint plants and this year on ours. The mint doesn't look that good though.

Lexi's debut to the 52 Weeks for Dogs group!

I had a couple ideas but ended up settling on a shaped bokeh with a close up of the starlet, Lexi. The lights in the background are from some Christmas lights lying around and Lexi is staring intently on the treat that I had for her held up next to the lens. I must say I went through a bunch of them to get this shot so I'm sure she didn't mind.

Lexi is a 6 months old Shiba Inu and we're excited to be a part of 2011's project for the 52 weeks for dogs. We're looking forward to sharing a little piece of this year with you and hopefully for years to come.

Here's to a fantastic year!

Cheers!

There were some waterdrops on the leaves from last nights rain.

Oh glorious days! It's been a miracle Winter around here...More of the fun white stuff fell out of the sky! Mom doesn't seem too happy with it...but I've been doing zoomies for days now. After a week of dreary gray skies, Mom did her own zoomy when at the very last few minutes of the day...SURPRISE...the sky suddenly opened up and out popped the sun. Hurricane Mom stormed through the house...No messing around...Banjo come; camera. Check; leash on. Check; out the door, no time to stop and potty and full speed to the to the field. Must. beat. the. sunset.

'WHITBY FOLK WEEK' - AUGUST 2019

Last week I stumbled upon some of my old videgames. Man that brought back memories. All those nights spent with button mashing with Street Fighter. My favourite Character has allways been Ryu with his Hadouken. So I decided to make a homage to hin as this weeks pic. What do you think?

Strobist Info:

For lighting, I used one gridded softbox as mainlight right in front of me. One softbox as rim light at 02:00. And one blue gelled bare strobe at 05:00 pretty close to me, to imitated the light of the energy orb.
