Built in April 1945 with the US military serial 44-73877 but stored until transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force in January 1951 where she served as 9279. She was sold off in April 1958 and was civil registered in Canada as CF-PCZ in 1963. She became N167F in April 1968 and was restored between 1980 and 1985 during which she was painted to represent Bud Anderson’s famous “Old Crow” but carrying her own tail number ‘473877’.

She was flown to Oslo in June 1986 for the Scandinavian Historic Flight and became a familiar site on the European Airshow scene. She took part in the filming of the “Memphis Belle” movie during the summer of 1989, for which she wore an olive drab scheme, coded ‘AJ-N’ and named “Cisc-O”. She soon became “Old Crow” again, except for the 1993 season when she wore an RAF scheme with the 19 Squadron codes ‘QV-S’. In late 1998 she became “Detroit Miss” coded ‘E2-D’ but was “Old Crow” yet again by the summer of 2001. This time she was an Olive Drab “Old Crow” with the false but historic tail number ‘414450’.

She was sold to Shaun Patrick in 2012 and in March 2015 she was given the appropriate British civil registration G-SHWN and an RAF colour scheme representing a shark-mouthed and camouflaged 112 Squadron Mustang IV coded ‘GA-S’ with the serial ‘KH774’. In May 2020 she was given her current 8th Air Force colours and was sold to Warbird Experiences in July 2021, although she is also often associated with the Rolls-Royce Heritage Flight.

Warrior Dash, shoe donations on second day.

This one is a revisit of an old image I took. Last time I was testing a new lens(sky was just a bit out of focus but I liked the image so much I posted it) This one was taken with a borrowed 5D MK III. I wanted to see how it stacked up with my MK II. High ISO noise is still a factor but it is a bit better. The sky was shot at 2500 ISO and the foreground at 200. f/2 and f/5.6 respectively with a Rokinon 24mm lens.
