It is difficult to light up small models, but AR makes it easy ;)
Inspired by...
So the other day in my PCC Basic Augment/Virtual Reality class, (where I am a student) Professor Sam showed us how to add an Animated Character to a targeted Graphic using Unity and Vuforia.
My brain needs to do something like this many times so I can remember the ideas and steps enough to remember.
So here we are the next day and I got it work on my 6 year old iMac, using its webcam.
In this scene in Unity, we have that graphic, an Emu painting my Daughter made for last years Fathers day, and we have a character extruded and textured in Photoshop, Rigged and Animated in Mixamo, which basically adds MOtion CAPture data, this was exported from Mixamo as a .FBX Unity friendly file.
Imported into Unity and my mind is blown, so much potential here…
If this sounds interesting to you stop by the PCC VR lab for a demo, or sign up for any class with Unity in the title here at PCC or Open Signal.
Soooo here I'm trying to do my homework, and I noticed a new to me export option in PS 3D, "Aero", so 4 hours down that rabbit hole, and it seems to be an iApp that works on mostly latest greatest iPad/iPhones, it wasn't supposed to work on mine and it eventually did but super slow, basically I was able to export a 3D object from PS into the Adobe storage cloud, and import it into an iPhone App, it places your 3D object (or one from it's library) into the view from your iPhone camera after generating a point cloud/3D set to figure out the floor that allows the 3D character to be anchored to, if you have one of those iPhones with lots of lenses and super fast internet I suspect it could almost be in real time. The last time I tried something like this was in Matt and Sams VR class here at PCC, using Unity and Vuforia, here's a link to that if this sounds interesting to you.https://flic.kr/p/2gbosDL

Dislocation Complex is an Audioreactive Augmented Reality App & Mixed Reality Installation initiated and inspired by Fuckhead’s Dislocation-album,….released on 15th December 2017 through Noise Appeal Recs in 2017.
An audioreactive scenario is summoned, the main topic of the album was translated to alienesque avatars (agents 666, 667 & 444) who seem to be busy with otherworldly issues somewhere in virtual no-man’s-land.
Download the free app Dislocation Complex at Google Play (Android) - or Apple App (iOS) - Store, focus your mobile device camera on the LP/CD /Digital Download/Poster or T-Shirt-Cover-Artwork of Dislocation (or download the trigger images here) to bring the scene to life.
The instrumental audio track Bad Luck is taken from the Dislocation CD/Digital Download-Release, afterwards the mobile device camera microphone stays active and receives audioreactive signals (latency depends on your mobile device).
CREDITS:
