We took an extended Weekend to take the girls to Minnesota to visit Amy's parents. On the second day of our visit we went to the Eagle Rescuse center in Wabash and Lark's Toys in Kellogg. I must admit while I thought the toy museum would be weak, it was very cool, and they probably had one of the most beautiful carousels I have ever seen.
I hadn't really thought about the Smurfs until Kathleen found an abandoned one the other day and took it home. So I took Holly and paid them a visit this evening. They were busy but as lovely and welcoming as they ever were. And it was all quite noisy as some sort of festival was taking place. Holly was intrigued and would have quite liked to have eaten them I think.

These monks from Yushu were visiting Dzogchen Monastery (as were 5,000 others). They wanted to have their photo taken with the Westerner. So we swapped.

Organized by The Craft & Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) in collaboration with the Anchorage Museum, This Is Not A Silent Movie: Four Contemporary Alaska Native Artists is centered around four acclaimed Alaska Native artists whose groundbreaking contemporary works question institutional methods of identifying Native heritage, examine their own mixed-race identities, and challenge perceptions and stereotypes about indigenous peoples.
